Which way are you wearing your rings?
I know it's a long, fabled tradition to wear the band first then the e-ring...but I like the way it looks the other way (likely from seeing it on other people's finger---because when you look at someone's hand you see the e-ring then the band...so I think I've grown accustomed to this and want to wear mine with the e-ring first and band last....tecnically backwards...I also think the e-ring is safer (and since it costs more, that's key) if it's got another ring to keep it on.Post-wedding customs
Before medical science discovered how the circulatory system functioned, people believed that a vein of blood ran directly from the fourth finger on the left hand to the heart. (This belief allegedly dates to the 3rd century BC in Greece.) Because of the hand-heart connection, people named the putative vein descriptively vena amori, Latin for 'the vein of love'. Due to this tradition, it became acceptable to wear the wedding ring on this finger. By wearing rings on the fourth finger of their left hands, a married couple symbolically declares their eternal love for each other. This has now become a matter of tradition and etiquette. However a reason to wear it right was that left = sinistra, sinister (left = bad; right = good).
In many Western cultures, the wedding ring is worn on the left hand. In some countries such as Germany and Chile, however, it is worn on the right hand. Also in Spain it is worn right, except by Catalan people (left). Orthodox Christians, Eastern Europeans and Jews also traditionally wear the wedding band on the right hand. In The Netherlands, Catholic people wear it left, all others right. But in Austria Catholic people wear it right.
Etiquette frowns severely on the making of sexual overtures to a man or woman wearing a wedding ring.
with e-ring first:

Re: Which way are you wearing your rings?
Wedding band on the 'inside' followed by your E.Ring - the band traditionally is 'closer' to your heart.

Re: Which way are you wearing your rings?
traditionally, the wedding band goes first but i think you should do whatever you want. there really aren't any rules. As for me, I'll be wearing two wedding bands on my left hand -- one will be the solid band I get married in (has to be plain for jewish weddings) and the other will be my eternity band that I love. I don't know if I'll wear my e-ring, except for special occasions but if I do, it will go on my right hand.

Re: Which way are you wearing your rings?
it's funny, i never heard of the tradition until one day i was trying on rings (for fun) with my mom and the jeweler handed me a 'set' and i apparently put it on wrong because the guy went nuts (ok...slight exaageration) telling me it was backwards and then explained the ancient reasoning...which was cute. after i got my rings, i was playing with them (since i was already wearing the e-ring, i just slipped the band on 'after' it) and grew to like the 'wrong' way better...i may be in the minority, but to each her own!!!

Re: Which way are you wearing your rings?
I am either doing the band on the bottom than the ering or am wearing my ering on my right hand (I have a pear shape, so my ering can't go on the bottom or it will be upsidedown)

Re: Which way are you wearing your rings?
I'll have the band on first...closest to my heart. The e-ring on top.
(band needs to get sized obviously)

Re: Which way are you wearing your rings?
When he first puts the wedding band on me, it will be on top of the e-ring. Once we're done with that, I will switch the two rings and have my wedding ring on first and then the e-ring.Welcome New Vendors
