anything yellow tail is good and inexpensive.

Santa Margarita Pinot is great... about $20 a bottle

i really like grand traverse sweet reisling. not sure if available in NY get it in michigan all the time. also like franz reh ice wine. it is a little more expensive a bottle (not quite a full size bottle, more like a half bottle or split is around $20)

Riunite Lambrusco....a sweet, normally chilled wine....and very yummy, even non wine drinkers typically like it. Usually ten bucks or under.

Also...Rosemount Estates Shiraz, or Yellow Tail Shiraz or Merlot all great choices and won't break the bank.
