Need remedies for bad cold/sore throat!

Why do I always get sick right before VACATION!?

This year has happened the week before the wedding, Christmas, our trip to San Diego, and now we leave for Costa Rica Anniversary trip next week and I woke up in the middle of the night with a sore throat and feeling crappy.

I know why---my body is letting go of all the stress and let's me be sick (happened even on elementary school vacations---yes I was a stressed out kid at times).

Pass on your get better soon remedies.... Not much time to rest with a big final on Thursday

when I get sore throats I drink tea with honey and have plenty of Cepacol!

green tea...or try zicam...it is a spray you can get at any drugstore or supermarket...it works...

I just got over having a sore throat, a cold and bronchitis...I am still coughing actually...feel better!!! It is going around.

I agree about Zicam. Also, theraflu makes a cold formula. I got that in the lemon flavor and it wasn't too bad. I drank it before going to bed, completely knocks you out and I felt better when I woke up. Hope you feel better soon!!

I third Zicam, always worked, although its' nasty!

My mom swears by tea w/ honey for sore throat.

Lots of liquids.

i like vics vapor rub on my chest and under my nose for a cold then some tylenol cold nightime..

take airborne!!
and also
this is a singer's remedy for sore throats:
slice up a lemon nice and thing (in rounds)
slice fresh ginger root (approx. 1 teaspoon worth) and put both in bottom of a mug.
pour boiling water over it and let it steep.
Add honey to taste

ETS:
feel better!!

Nothing beats cough medicine with codeine. But that's prescription.

I always use ricola drops and drink things that coat the throat (but not dairy).

What it comes down to is nothing will cure you except letting it run it's course and resting but whatever makes it feel better is gold!

I hope you feel better really really really soon!

These two are what I do and it works without fail!

I like drinking hot tea. That definitely seems to soothe the throat.
Also, Gargle! I swear by that. LISTERINE!!!!!!
It kills germs and it works.
