As of now (still 10 days away) the weather is forecasted to be HORRIBLE!!

For those of you who had a yucky weather day, can you share your thoughts/experience?

Re: Girls who had a rainy wedding day

My Aunt had a rainy day and she bit^&ed about it-but her pics came out AMAZING-some of the best I've seen. Her hair stayed in place and everything turned out beautiful. She loved it in the end.

Re: Girls who had a rainy wedding day

There was literally record breaking rain the day of my wedding. I was upset the days leading up to it but honestly, when I woke up that day, I could not have cared less, it didnt even matter. The day is so much bigger then the weather, it didnt even phase me. Everything was PERFECT and I wouldnt change it for anything!

Re: Girls who had a rainy wedding day

We got married during a hurricane in the morning and afternoon and everything was beautiful anyway and we still got to take pictures outside.

Re: Girls who had a rainy wedding day

You can't rely on weather reports for 10 days from now. I am getting married the same weekend
No sense in getting upset over something we have no control over. People will still come to your wedding and have a good time. No matter what the weather brings you will still have a special day!

Re: Girls who had a rainy wedding day

And there are so many other things that you can control...you just cant control the weather, there is nothing you can do so try your best not to stress over it, your day will be beautiful no matter what!

Re: Girls who had a rainy wedding day

We were lucky to get some dry time in for pictures but you have to make the best of it... take pics inside or under a giant umbrella or under a gazebo.

Dont stress over it because honestly, you cant do anything about it. It will still be the happiest day of your life.

Re: Girls who had a rainy wedding day

Our day was very rainy.

I was a little upset until one of the limo drivers said to me and my DH, 'You can't undo a wet knot'. That made me feel so much better!

Plus - if it rains you can take fun umbrella pics like this!!!

HTH!!!

Re: Girls who had a rainy wedding day

We were quite fortunate. It was supposed to rain, and though it was humid as heck and drizzled on the way to the church and a little after, the showers held off.

The most important things to remember are---

1-You cannot control the weather.
2-You're still going to get married, rain or shine!!
3-Roll with the punches!

We wanted to take pics outside at the reception hall, but it was drizzling and the photographer said no. We went inside, took family and BP pics, then DH and I were able to take pics outside as it had stopped raining. Doing this, we missed our CH, which we wanted to attend. I figure I will have those pics to remember now.

Re: Girls who had a rainy wedding day

I know I replied to other threads about this, but I want to mention: We decided to get pics taken at the Holtsville Ecology Center. We figured, no matter the weather, that leaves would not be growing on trees for outdoor pics. It rained, so we had a great time! (Pics from there are in my album)

But, we did have to make an appt there. A bride showed up a few minutes after us and she was turned away. I felt bad for her.

See what is available out of your reception hall. All things considered, most places indoors ask for a small donation. We gave $100 for the ecology center. Small price for piece of weather mind. Look around your area.

Re: Girls who had a rainy wedding day

You really can't count on weather reports 10 days away. The weather report for my wedding day said we were going to be hit with 'remnants of hurricane Ivan'. I counted on it raining. The morning of my wedding, the weather guy said the rain is 'practically at our doorstep'. Long story short, it DIDN'T RAIN! It was cloudy and overcast most of the day, but when we came out of the church, the sun was peeking through. So don't worry too much about the weather and make yourself crazy. If it does rain, it will still be a beautiful day!
