How much to insure and E-ring?
I called to add my E-ring to our home owners insurance and they said $31 per $1000 of coverage. That seemed very high to me.

Try Jewelers Mutual, I think their rates are lower.

Re: How much to insure and E-ring?
I got mine insured through a plan our jeweler participated in. We just had to pay a one time premium of $300 on a $10,000 bridal set which is about 3%...but thats all we have to pay.

Re: How much to insure and E-ring?
Oh and it even covers damages to the ring, and if I lose it or it gets stolen or if any of the stones fall out etc...

Re: How much to insure and E-ring?
We have a certain amount for jewelry included on our tenant's insurance policy. We added an additional 3k for jewelry at $42. and 3k for camera equipment for $33.I think there's a limit they'll do without an appraisal though. But yes, 30 dollars per 1000 sounds like a lot to me.

Not all policies cover if the stones fall out. My insurance co. (Allstate) said that's a sign of poor workmanship and you have to take it up with the jeweler. But if you can get one that does cover that, that's a great deal. We put ours through our homeowners. And reading this post, I think we got totally ripped off on our premium. I'm totally P.O'd right now. That's what happens when you don't shop around. I'm calling my broker right now.

Re: How much to insure and E-ring?
I pay $180/year thru state farm - its personal property insurance. It depends on how much it appraised for and how high your deductible is.

Re: How much to insure and E-ring?
I have Chubb too and pay $50/month. It seems like a lot, but they actually will give you the monetary value for the ring if it gets lost or stolen, not just 'replace' the ring with a replica. I know that State Farm will only give you the same ring and not give you the money.
