Plateaus are normal. It means your body is changing more to lean mass. (Remember, muscle weighs more than fat) While you're on the plateau, your clothes should still feel like they are getting bigger. Don't always go by the scale.I'm on South Beach too. I lost 20 pounds right before my wedding and I'm determined to lose another 30 before our cruise at the end of October. Good luck!!!
BTW: Don't stay on Phase 1 for more than 2 weeks. It can hurt your body if you're depriving it for too long. If you want to stay on a modified phase 1, add fruits. The doctors are the ones that put me on the diet, so I trust what they have to tell me. Just passing it on.

Pilates are a great accessory to the South Beach Diet. They do wonders together!

Get off of phase one! Phase one is not the weight loss phase. Its only purpose is to regulate your blood sugar. The initial weight loss is a bonus and phase one eating is neither healthy nor meant for the long term. But a lot of people think that because they lose so much weight on phase one that they can keep up that rate of weight loss by staying on phase one - unfortunately, it doesn't work that way and you could be doing real damage to yourself by continuing on phase one. Phase two is where you are supposed to lose weight, and you lose it less rapidly, at a healthy rate. Start slowly introducing carbs and you'll be fine. You might see an initial gain of a pound or two, but that's normal and if you stick with it, you'll start losing weight again in no time. Good luck!Welcome New Vendors
