NWR: Looking for a good book to read on a long flight!!!

Book recommendations anyone? I leave for my HM this week and I have a long flight with some layover time. Before I head over to Borders this AM, does anyone have some ideas? TIA!

Re: NWR: Book recommendations anyone?

I think the book is called 'Samantha's DIary to Nicholas' by James Patterson. Make sure you have tissues handy. I absolutely LOVED this book!

Re: NWR: Looking for a good book to read on a long flight!!!

suzanes diary to nicolas by james paterson is great. All of his books are. Just a warning it is very fast reading so if you take want to read any of patersons books I would take more than one with you . He has different series. The womans murder club, the alex cross series and his misc. books.
another very good book is Women of substance by barbara taylor bradford. that is a very long big book and you would only need that one. Enjoy

Re: NWR: Looking for a good book to read on a long flight!!!

I'm a book nerd so here are a bunch for you:

The Kite Runner--was amazing
Always a bridesmaid
Here comes the Bride
Sleeping with fear--Kay Hooper (she has an entire series of these books)
The Husband was great Dean Koontz
The 10th Circle by Jodi Picoult----all her books are amazing....My Sister's Keeper you will need tissues for.....The Pact was great too

Any James Patterson book is always a good read
except the Beach House....didn't really like that one.

Excellent book!

Also - I am reading the Bel Canto now by Anne Patchett - it is terrific - I thought it would be boring (I'm reading it for a book club) but I can NOT put it down!

Also - I have a long flight coming up for my HM - I'm going to Thailand - and I have Party Monster put aside for the flight - by James St. James, because I used to be a club kid - it was a movie with Macauley Culkin about he and another clubby killing Angel, the Ecstasy dealer - it looks really funny, believe it or not!

I agree Jennifer Weiner books are a quick read, and Jodie Poucault, although My Sister's Keeper was a dissppointment!

Also - Running with Scissors was great - a bit duisturbing at times, but definitely can't put it down!

The Namesake by Jumpha Lahiri is a quick read - I read it when I went to Florida...

Also - an older book - but if you guys liked Kite Runner, the Moor's Last Sigh by Salmon Rushdie was SUCH a great book - I read it 10 years ago and still recommend it, and Anita Diamant's book The Red Tent....

HTH

I am waiting for these to come in for me from the library.

I really like Jane Green, Marian Keyes, Meg Cabot and Jennifer Weiner's books.

Suzanne's diary for Nicholas is good but, I cried at the end. I actually finished it on a plane and thought everyone was looking at me, same with Nicholas Sparks books.
