Cute Idea: Bridal Shower

For anyone who is planning a bridal shower...

I thought this was a cute idea: (I was just invited to a Bridal Shower and they had on the invitation) to send via mail or e-mail your favorite recipe...
What they are doing is they are comiling all the recipes into a recipe book for the Bride! Thought that was sooo GREAT idea!

I went to a shower where you brought the recipe with you and they stuck it in the book as you gave it to them and then they gave the bride the book. It was so nice!

My mom wants to do that for me... it's the one thing I know about the shower.... She has had me on the hunt for recipe cards for months.

We've done that pleny of times. We're West Indian so we may cook, or eat thigns that man may not, so my mom always likes to keep everyone els in mind when we have things. definately a good idea

yea I think mostly every shower I have been to they have done that.
The best one I have seen yet has to be the scrapbook.
They mailed out a thick piece of paper a lil bigger than 81/2 X 11 and everyone had to decorate their own piece you can put pictures of you and the bride and groom, poems, marriage advice anything it was soooo nice. Everyone gave their papers to the MOH and she put it in a big binder (clear pages). It was the nicest thing.

Yes, for my sister's shower we sent, with the invite, recipe cards and then collected them at the party... for me, I'm going to have my mom and sister have each guest write the number of their favorite restaurant that offers 'To Go' service, favorite take-out place (chinese, pizza, etc)... and all that good stuff. I think that will come in handy the most for me once we are married.

I just threw a shower and made my own postcards- they said 'recipe for love' on the front and on the back they had space for a guest to write their favorite recipe- I also included my friend's address and stamp and gave them to guests as they left.

I did this for my friend's shower, some ppl. brought recipe cards but not too many.

I've heard of that and I think it is the cutest idea!
