November weddings? Are they cheaper?

Im not a cheep-o but is November off-season?

I thought November was off season and I think I got a good deal for a Saturday night (84.95) at Larkfield Manor. Sounds great but then I see people are paying 65$. It was my first place and I am not good at the bargaining yet! hahaa

Im just trying to find out what the average pp is for a November wedding if any of you girls know.

THANKS!

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

i priced out Windows on the Lake for the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving and he said that was the cheapest time because it was during the week .. don't know if that helps but it def put a nice option in my head but i chose the summer instead .....

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

I think it depends where your RH is. I am getting married at Flowerfields and am paying for it, but it is so worth it for us. We chose November because of the weather and season, we both love the fall and can not stand being hot.
Although most halls do have their peak season pricing from May-September.

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

November was my second choice, and the price was about $5-10 less per head .

We picked October because our RH has a terrace were we would like to have part of our cocktail hour and FH wants the 'men' to be able to sit outside, smoke a stoogie ans sip brandy!! LOL

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

At The Crescent, November was not as expensive as October, but more expensive than December. It depends where you go. And it depends on the day of the week and time of day. I'm actually paying a little more to have a sunset wedding (4:30), rather than start my wedding at 6pm when it's already dark, so I'm paying the same as October anyway!

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

I don't really think Novemeber is off season any longer. On the day of my wedding (Nov. 3) in 2005, it was almost 70 degrees. Novemeber seems to be staying warmer a little longer then in the past.

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

I think more and more RHs are tiring of couples trying for the cheaper times...I've noticed more and more people saying it's the same price on Thursday as Saturday night and the same for winter vs. summer. They've started to stop taking credit cards to avoid people 'disputing' the charges later, why not eliminate a discount for a winter or weekday as well? Otherwise, they'd start to get swamped with Wednesday weddings.

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

When FH and I went hall shopping the places we went to basically told us the same thing. The only real offseason is January through March because those are the least popular wedding months right now

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

It will be slightly cheaper but not significantly.

My friend is getting married in February on a Friday night. That was a lot cheaper.

I think the easiest way to keep costs down is book an off-season wedding and not take a sat night. sun afternoons are probably the cheapest.

in hindsight i should have had an off-peak wedding. i had no bargaining power with any vendors or the hall bc they knew my date would eventually be taken.

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

yes see we picked november because our anniversary is the 6th! so we are trying to stay as close to that as possible.

I just hear some people say it is off season, ask for a better price.

But I am sticking with that date mostedefinitely. Thanks girls!!!

We just dont want to pay more than like 110$ a head. u know?

you guys are a great help!

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

When we booked our RH early last year, we were told by most places that November was slightly cheaper. We wanted a fall wedding with the leaves changing color but still wanted a little warmth in the air. So we picked the first Sat in November. But every place is different so you should ask.

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

I found everything varied from place to place.

Some places, December was less than November, which was less than October, etc..

Other places, the prices were the same for April-December and less expensive in January-March.

ETA: For a Sat night, that's not a bad price! Saturday nights are the most expensive. Fri night, Sat afternoon, Sun afternoon and Sun night are usually less expensive.

OH Sweetie!!! Do NOT use past years as a guide for your wedding day weather!!!!

My wedding date in 2005 it was 65

My actual wedding day it was 20 degrees!!!!

We were freezing...just be aware because I learned the HARD way

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

November is cheaper than October, but more expensive than December. We originally had our wedding date booked for December 2, 2006 and had to switch it to November 25, 2006, and we are paying $10 more a person to have the wedding in November than December.

Re: November weddings? Are they cheaper?

It depends on the hall most halls will go down on the price as the months get closer to the winter...however Villa's wouldn't do anything for me they would only give me a deal if I did my wedding in Jan or Feb...I think ur getting a great deal mine is a sunday day wedding and I am paying more then that....I did not pick my hall on price....I didn't get everything I wanted by going to Villa's but I loved the hall...I could have had a night wedding somewhere else cheaper however I just loved Villa's!
