Re: NWR - Low carb or Whole wheat

Whole wheat, but my doctors and nutritionist said that the Barilla Plus I bought were good too. They had to put me on a strict diet to help with my health problems, so I asked them so many questions. They said whole wheat is best, but it does taste different.

Re: NWR - Low carb or Whole wheat

I actually like whole wheat pasta. It is the only pasta I eat so I guess I am used to it. I saw something on Low Carb pasta and it confuses me. I guess if you are on a low carb diet then the low carb pasta would be better..

Re: NWR - Low carb or Whole wheat

Whole wheat. I only buy BioNature organic whole wheat pasta. Extra $$, but well worth the cost considering the taste and texture. It's not grainy like most whole wheat pasta, and I've served it to people that didn't know it was whole wheat until I told them.

Yes, I agree. Whole Wheat is better, but the Barilla PLus (multi grain I think) is also very good for you - better than low carb - and it tastes good! Not as strong as the whole wheat!

Re: NWR - Low carb or Whole wheat

Whole wheat for anything (pasta, bread, rice) is always better because it is unrefined. Even if you are on a low carb diet, whole wheat carbs are the good kind of carb because they digest lower and dont leave you hungry, like refined carbs do (white bread, white rice, sugar, etc).

I did the 'Body for Life' diet in college, thats why I know this crap.
