Don't worry! Once you get to the airport and explain to the airline it's your HM, I'm sure they'll be able to do something or convince some nice person to switch seats.

Re: Oh great...we are sitting 5 seats apart on our honeymoon flight!
Zurich...then training it to Venice which was another stupid mistake on my part. AARRGGHH! The airline told me that I should stick with the seats we have now and that either they will switch them at the airport or we should ask the person next to FH (DH then!) to switch with me. It would be an aisle to aisle switch so they probably shouldn't mind. But I can just imagine that we will be stuck.

I think it will all be ok - I am sure the person will switch with you (if it even comes to that because I think the airline will take care of it once you get to the airport). Everything will be perfect!

Re: Oh great...we are sitting 5 seats apart on our honeymoon flight!
well when i was flying to Italy i wasn't sitting next to a friend i was travelling withi freaked out bc i am a big baby - we got there earlier than we needed to and they switched our seats no problem
so i am sure they can do it for you HM!
besides people will switch with you if THAT doesnt work out - FH and I volunteered to give up our seats on our way to Aruba so a HM couple could sit together - they figured out another way though! Even though we were on our first 'real' vacation - honeymooners definitely had priority!

Re: Oh great...we are sitting 5 seats apart on our honeymoon flight!
even if someone next to you wont switch, i am sure if you ask a flight attendant if they could find 2 people to allow you to switch they would make an announcement someone is bound to be nice enough to switch with you, i know i wouldnt wanna keep a honeymooning couple apart! that is f-'d up!

So were we. When you check in, they change it right away, we didn't even have to ask.

Awwww, Zurich.
That's where FH proposed to me this spring.
Which airline are you flying? FH flew Iberia to surprise me in Zurich and we had to fly back to NY on separate airlines. If he had flown Air France (the airline I had flown in on), the flight attendants would have switched us both to first class. Tell everyone you see that you are on your honeymoon and most people will be so happy to be around a couple so in love that they'll probably help you out as much as they can. If the people at check-in can't help you, try the person sitting next to your FH(by then he'll be your DH). Who wouldn't want to help the HMers sit next to each other???
ETA: we were supposed to go back to Europe for our HM but I didn't want to do the train to Venice or the Riviera. It's going to be beautiful for you!!!

Re: Oh great...we are sitting 5 seats apart on our honeymoon flight!
I am so sorry this happened. It sounds like it will be easily remedied. But if it makes you feel any better. DH was right next to me and because he thought he would sleep better with help, he took an Ambien for a 9 and a half hour flight from Chicago to Honolulu only to wake up onthe tarmac because we had a three hour delay.
. He's like 'are we there yet?' And I said 'Um honey, we haven't left yet!'

Definitely mention it to the person at the ticket counter...You never know, they might even upgrade you to first class!!!

Re: Oh great...we are sitting 5 seats apart on our honeymoon flight!
a sure fire way to get your seat changed, tell them at the counter that you have flight related anxiety, and if forced to fly alone, you will likely have a full blown panic attack! it works, i've done it...but make sure they change your seats in the computer instead of changing on the plane!

After the recent incident I heard I think they might not even let me on the plane if I told them that! And it is American Airlines
I will hope for the best! Thanks for the ideas, ladies!

Re: Oh great...we are sitting 5 seats apart on our honeymoon flight!
This happened to us also on our honeymoon. We were able to take care it at the counter. Just make sure you tell them that you are on your honeymoon. I'm a baby and hate flying so I cried also. I think that helped.
