NWR...cant sleep
I dont want to whine but I have been in a major FUNK this week. I think it is just a combo of all the changes going on in my life but I am having such anxiety about going back to work. A 4th year at a new school and a new grade...shoot me.I also will be completing my masters and doing my thesis along with adjusting to the house and all the responsibilities that come along with it. Im nervous about money and I am sad that I dont see my mom and dad everyday.
Im fully aware that I have so many things to be grateful for and that makes me feel like more of a BRAT because there are so many people going through REAL problems.
I always get overwhelmed at the end of august with the new school year ahead of me.. but this year its just SO much other stuff all at once I guess.
I dont even know why I am typing this, I just needed to vent I guess. Am I the only one that gets like this? Ive waited my whole life to be married and have a house and now I feel like Im just a whiny jerk who cant even be happy when she gets everything she ever wanted.

Re: NWR...cant sleep
We haven't bought a house yet, so I don't have that anxiety (just the anxiety that comes with wondering if we can afford one), but I definitely hear you about school issues....I have already started the - wake up at 4:30am and my mind starts going a mile a minute, then I cannot fall back asleep for hours. This happens every new school year. This year I am teaching a new grade as well, and that adds to the anxiety. Fear of the unknown is the worst. However, where there's a will there's a way. It will all work out!

Re: NWR...cant sleep
Jen I can relate....I had a house (many a moon ago) & it was all that I wanted (& I was newly married at the time) & I remember being like, 'this is it?' & all we were doing is working on the house, it never ended.I can also relate w/ the school business b/c this is my 3rd new grade in 5 years (although I'm going back to my old school), I feel a bit overwhelmed & like, 'where did the summer go.'
Your thesis will fall into place, its a few months of pure hell, but you'll have the greatest feeling of accomplishment when you finish........

You are not being a BRAT. You have alot of changes going on and it is perfectly normal to be overwhelmed. Humans are creatures of habit and the moment our day to day rutine changes we freak out. It's not you it's all of us...well it's our genetic make up
I can understand about not seeing your parents everyday. That is much a hard adjustment for me. I mean you have known them your whole life. But just remember that they will always be there for you.
I am sure everything will work out fine. And once you see that everything is working out fine I think that over whelming feeling will go away and you'll feel much better.

Hang in there Jenn! This is a major transition period for you, you have every right to feel this way! I worry about money too and we didn't buy the house yet! Just remember, work is work. You have a new husband who loves you so much and a beautiful home to share with him. The rest will fall into place. You are probably not used to having him around all the time so make some time for yourself. Go to the gym, take a walk, take a yoga class, it really helps. Good luck and we are here for you!

You're not whining and you're not being a brat. Everything you are going through is completely normal and we'll all go through it to some degree. I went through something similar when FH and I moved in together and I'm sure I'll go through an adjustment period after the wedding as well. You also have to remember to let yourself grieve, in manner of speaking, for what your life was like before you got married. There is nothing wrong with being sad and letting yourself go through the emotions. You'll be okay.
