I'm getting money!

I just found out that NYS owes me money. I am so excited. While it's not a lot, it's still money.

Hollie - was it 'unclaimed funds'? If so, you should have the check next week.

I 'found' money that way a few weeks ago, and I had the check before I had the letter telling me I was approved to receive it!

how did you find out?

I got a letter in the mail from some company that said I might be owed money by NYS, and if I sent them $30 they would handle all the paperwork for me.

Then I thought, hey maybe this isn't a scam, and I checked for myself. Lucky me, I was indeed owed money!!

I was able to claim it without the assistance of some random company, and without paying $30.

I'm leaving for a pool tournament on Sunday for a week, and this $$ is a godsend. Now I can actually afford to eat!!
