A detailed, post wedding review of Cassarino Studios!!! LONG WITH A PIC!!!

I used Cassarino for my photo/video for my June '06 wedding. I had Jodi for photographer, and can't recall the video guys name. Anyhow, I just wanted to tell you so far of my experiences with them.

I first met with Jodi and Big Razz at a showcase at Jericho Terrace. The first album I saw, I fell in love with the pictures and said, 'Who shot this wedding?' It was Jodi, and though I knew I wanted to book on the spot, I did shop around. I met with SilverFox, Twelfth Night and Patken. I felt the best 'click' with Jodi and Big Razz as well they gave me all the things I wanted.

I met with Big Razz to book and he was very helpful and patient. He answered all my questions and showed me all my options. We ended up selecting a digital album (DH wanted it) though I always thought we'd go the traditional route. He was very accommodating to what I wanted and didn't want. We ended up selecting our album, 4 parent albums (both our parents are divorced), 10 loose 8x10s, and 1- 11x14 black and white w/ a splash of color.

We had an engagement shoot with Jodi, which from what I was told, she rarely does b/c she is their top photographer and makes her own schedule. We had a great time at the e-shoot, which lasted all of 30 minutes. We ended up with 72 pictures, which are awesome.

The day of the wedding, things went utterly smoothly, photo-wise. I received numerous compliments from many guests on how cool our photographer was. We were able to get all our posed family and bridal party shots done before the cocktail hour started, and DH and I missed about 1/2 the CH, b/c we wanted to take pics outside. Cassarino is a house vendor for Jericho Terrace (where we had our reception), which I felt was a smart move. Why you ask? Well, Jodi knew the best places to take pics and knew exactly how to set us up. We didn't waste any time, and got tons of shots!

I was very anxious to get my proofs, but had to tell myself it was going to be at least 1 month. Well, 3 1/2 weeks after the wedding, I got a call the proofs were in!!! I went that same day and picked them up! We had just over 650 proofs, and they were AMAZING! I love, love, LOVE them!!! DH and I picked out thank you photo right away and had them ordered w/i 1 week of picking up the proofs. I received a call 1 1/2 weeks later that the photos were ready! I had my thank you cards done and out within 2 months from the wedding!

It was then time to select the 100 pictures for the album. This was SO challenging. But DH and I did it. Well, we ended up with 102. I made and appointment for this past Tues to select album colors, and such. This is my favorite part of this WHOLE post... I go in, and meet with Little Razz, he's so kind, sweet, and funny.... and he's a cutie!! I select album color, sayings for the fronts and then I give him the photos. I asked about fixing a few: 1-The post-toast pic of DH, me, MOH and Best Man, my MOH had closed her eyes and 2-there were a few pics of me with a 'beautiful' monster of a pimple on the side of my cheek. Little Razz said he could fix both issues! I walked out of the office at 7:35pm. The next morning I check my email to find a message from Little Razz, that was sent at 8:11pm with the fixed photos! I was SO amazed and pleased! Not only with the promptness but the work! I am going to attach the fixed, closed eyes pic.

When I sat down w/ Little Razz to select album colors and such, I asked if something was extra. He said no, and if anything would be an extra cost he would tell me. He also said he would not push anything on me, saying “If you don’t want it just say so” This made me feel so at ease. A friend of mine who was married 4 yrs ago and used a VERY popular photographer (who I met with) said they were very sales pitchy and “pushed” a lot of extras on her. And my SIL spent an extra $2000 on top of their photo package with extras! I didn’t want this, and have nothing to worry about.

I will post a further review on albums, prints and video when I get them…. until then, here is the fixed photo. Please feel free to FM with questions.
