Engagement party gift

What is a generous gift for an engagement party of your best friend, if you are the MOH? I have no idea what is appropriate to spend?

i didn't have an engagement party and i've never been to one, so i'm sorry - i'm no help!! lol i would give whatever you feel appropriate giving and whatever you can afford. it's an e-party, not the wedding... and if you are an MOH, you will be dishing out tons of money all the way down the line. i'd probably spend around 100, give or take. depends on what i'm looking to get her. if there was something that i knew she loved and i wanted for her, i'd spend more.

i believe I gave my best friend 150$ I also gave another friend of mine 100..a close friend. The wedding is where you go crazy. and my friends know my situation with working part time so..idont think they think that is stingy.

Both our BM and our MOH gave us $150 and I know neither of them spoke about it or anything like that...pure coincidence

I guess it depends on how fancy the party is...i would figure between 100 and 150....also consider if u are bringin a guest too...

one of my best friend gave me $200 & she didnt even come to the engagement party- she was stuck at work- other people went through my registry & got me tons of gifts!!

i think getting them a gift card would be nice...

some people get gifts and stuff off their registry but if they are not registered i would give a gift card..

i dont believe in giving money until the wedding...thats when i would give them more money
