ANOTHER another TY wording question

How do you address the card if you invited someone with a guest, and they brought someone but are not engaged or seriously dating?

In other words, do you address it to both of them?

What if you don't know them well and are not sure if they are still dating? Or what if you don't remember the name of their date? Do you just address it to your main guest & not the date?
