Re: NWR: Please share tips on how to nail a job interview!

Be yourself! be as natural as possible!
and most importantly....
ASK questions... do your research on the company, school, wherever... look smart. they want someone that knows what they're about: what is their philosphy? what are good things about working there? bad? how would you fit in? what are the advancement opportunities if any??? etc. etc. they are just not interviewing them, you're interviewing them too....

also, don't mention salary unless they bring it up! you can always follow-up on that AFTER the interview.

GOOD LUCK

Re: NWR: Please share tips on how to nail a job interview!

Arrive early.

Be prepared, ask questions.

Be confident.

Sit up straight in the chair, don't cross your arms.

Take a moment before answering their questions to make sure that you answer them the way you want to.

Be prepared with your strengths and weaknesses and how you would be a good fit for this role.

Research the company.

Follow up with a thank you note.

Re: NWR: Please share tips on how to nail a job interview!

Dont fidget, wear good shoes, arrive early...definately have an answer if they ask for weaknesses, strength...BRING A PEN!!!
Its actually a pet-peeve of ours over here..
And initially, when they call for the interview make sure you turn down music/tv, etc...we dont even schedule with someone who does not do this....
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Re: NWR: Please share tips on how to nail a job interview!

Hi!

Research the company so that you can ask specific questions about what they do and to see how you would fit in.

Show up about 5 minutes early, I can't tell you how many times people walk in 3-5 minutes late and rushed, and it sets the whole interview off on a bad note.

The single most important thing to me is the follow up though. It's important in every job, and when we interview someone, even if it is a great interview, if there is no follow up, or thank you note, the candidate is automatically out for us. Its just too important!

Good luck!!

If they ask you about a weakness make it something that can turn into a positive or state the weakness and explain what you're doing to work on changing it.

Re: NWR: Please share tips on how to nail a job interview!

dont ever say, that you dont believe in a chain of command, that managers are equal, and you shouldn't have more work than them, dont say you are un-organized, and a procrastinator...
I can write a book on what not to say...had to actually hold back laughter in some interviews...

Re: NWR: Please share tips on how to nail a job interview!

Practice, practice, practice! There are basic interview questions that all companies will ask. Memorize your answers for these questions, like: What are your strengths? Weaknesses? Give an example of a time when you were in a position of leadership and faced a difficult task... what was the result?

Here is a link to common interview questions:
Potential Questions

At least if you have some answers prepared, you'll feel more confident.... just be sure not to memorize the answers down to the adjectives you'll use lol...then you'll be to busy trying to get it 'perfect'.

Best of Luck

Perfectly said!

I would just add to make eye contact and let them finish the full question before starting to answer. Just be yourself and im sure you score the job!

Good luck and let us know how it goes!
