I've heard something like that too. But to be on the side of caution I would call Dr. and ask. One of my BM's has HBP and she gets massages all the time so I don't think that is a problem but the bath I don't know about.

I don't see how massage could be a contraindication for hypertension. In fact I would think its the other way around - massage relaxes you and in turn brings down blood pressure.
He should ask his doc to make sure, but I don't think it will be an issue.

i think it has something to do with blood thinners, blood flow and the stimulation from the massage.....i remember sophie [sr081906] saying that pregnant women can't be massaged at their ankles or something b/c it CAN induce labor.

I would definitely let them know. Some massage therapists use herbs or turn heat up high which might not be great for someone with high blood pressure. Can't hurt to let them know....
