How much chocolate do I need for favors?

I'm making chocolates for my E-Party on Sat. I went to 3 places (AC Moore and 2 party stores) and they were out of milk chocolate. I am making double hearts and am putting 3 in a bag and I need 40 favors. So how many bags of chocolate do you think I need. My FH is going to be in Suffolk tonight, so he is going to look for it, but he doesn't overbuy like me, so I want to tell him the correct amount. TIA

Re: How much chocolate do I need for favors?

I would say cut my amount by 1/3 cause I made 130 favors. We bought 19 lbs. of chocolate.

In each bag we had:
3 dipped pretzel sticks (each with a different coating over the chocolate - crushed nuts, colored sprinkles, and little ball sprinkles)
1 chocolate cluster (with nuts and roasted coconut flakes)
1 homemade kiss (with little ball sprinkles on the botton
1 thank you mold (with colored sprinkles on the whole back).

Between 4 people it took us about 8 hours to finish everything. The thank molds and the kisses molds took the longest. It took them about 15 minutes each tray to dry in the fridge, plus there were only 5 thanks you molds on each tray. I hope that gives you a little bit of an idea.
