need help keeping it together... caterer is MIA...UPDATE...not good

earlier this morning i posted about needing help composing a note/letter to a vendor (thanks, again, ChrissynRicky and CLMon7906 for replying )

now i need help holding it together!!!

a little background.... i'm having a small wedding. both wedding and reception in same place. i was able to get a caterer approved that was not on their original list, because she 'stated' that she would be able to meet the insurance requirements.

*this is someone i know who is a caterer*

she even called months ago to make sure she would be able to meet all the standards.

now, three weeks before the wedding, the venue is calling me asking for her PROOF OF INSURANCE because they need it on file, the woman IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND!!!!

i had fh call her two days straight and nothing. i don't have an email for her, so i decided to fax her a letter (that's where the earlier post came in), and when i went to fax it.... it says that the number is INVALID!!!!!

I'M FREAKING OUT!!!!!

have you paid any deposits?

look into other caterers to be on the safe side AND does this caterer have a location? GO THERE. it's harder to ignore awarm body.

keep us updated.

also, maybe post on the vendor board!

do you have an address for you? maybe go to her directly!! this is a big issue!

Try to breathe, hold it together, hopefully its just that she is buisy to get back to you. Try to find her, go to her office and keep calling.

there is an update to this story.... caterer is NO WHERE!!!

so we are going with Plan B. the 'rh' has a caterer that they go to in situations like this. so i'm relieved that my guests will have something to eat. what makes this even worse is that it's going to put me in the RED. it's going to end up being so much more money.

we're taking caterer #1 to small-claims court.

i'm so disgusted with all of this.

I'm so sorry to hear about all of this. It's a bride's worst nightmare come true. Hang in there, you're going to have a beautiful wedding.

oh no, thats awful... do you have a contract with the MIA caterer? If you do I think you DEFINITELY have a case in court- sue her a$$! I am so sorry you have to go through this!!
