Hello All - My First Post on the Newlywed Side

Hi I just moved over to this side of the board. Its nice to be here. I have a cake question for all of you who saved the top layer of your cake. How are you freezing it? Did you wrap it in tin foil or something else? Thanks for your input.

Welcome....

...to this side of the board. Your post just reminded me that I have no idea where the top of my cake is. I think my parents took it home the night of the wedding, but I'm not sure. Gotta call them. Knowing my mom, she just stuck the box in the freezer without wrapping it more.

You want to try to minimize moisture loss, so I'd suggest wrapping it in Saran and putting it in a Zip-Lock, then put that in a Tupperware tub with a good seal. That will also help protect it from getting knocked around.

Welcome...

My MIL must have wrapped it in anything she could get her hands on-- I agree that you should put it in as many things as possible=--I have heard that people vacuum seal them as well--- Laura

It is great to be on this side. I put our cake in tin foil. Two zip locks and a plastic bag. Hope it makes it till next year.
