RSVP date in THREE days... missing about 120 responses!!

What the HECK!?!?!?!??!!?

I know that people have late issues with them, but 120 missing RSVP's with three days to go?!!?

I'm gonna throw up.

The same thing happenend to us. I had the parents start calling and e-mailing people. I let the parents know (since FH and I are paying for the wedding ourselves) that any response not received (either verbally or by e-mail) will be no's. I was very firm on this - I am not taking a chance on people showing up that can not even put a card in the mail that already has a stamp on it. My family knows my pretty well to know that I mean something when I say it, so my side was responded pretty quickly. We did end up with responses before I have to hand in the final count.
I do not think people realize that it takes time to do the seating arrangements. Along with my final count, I need to know how many people at each table, along wiht how many favors at each.

Start calling and recruit everyone to help you.

Meanwhile, do not accept VERBAL RSVPs. Ask them to mail them.

You may get a lot tomorrow for a couple of reasons:

1. People do a lot of 'housekeeping' with their mail on Saturdays, so they could send it out Saturday. Especially since there isn't another Saturday before your RSVP date.

2. Mail is slow on Saturdays and doesn't come today, so that could mess it up.

3. People are just numbnuts.

ETA: My mom (prior to my wedding) always thought she was supposed to send in the RSVP card ON the day it was due (kind of like a bill) so you will get a couple of people like that too.

That is ridiculous! We are one week past the date and we are still missing about 40 responses. We finally gave in and marked our BM and GM as yeses, even though they did not bother to return their cards!

I made it well known that I will NOT track you down, email or call you. If you don't send in your card, then in my book, you're not coming!

Good luck to you. We got a lot in the last week and even a few days after our date.

Again, I will suggest reqruiting your parents and future in-laws to help with making phone calls. You will probably get some after the date especially being that today is a holiday. Good luck!!!

I could never understand why people hold onto RSVP cards. Either you're coming or you're not! Just mail the darn thing!

i know what you mean! i got half of my rsvp's AFTER the due date!

it's so rude! but ppl are like that, you just have to make a mental note and send those same procrastinators a very LATE rsvp when they send out their invites in the future ;)

many who don't rsvp yet because:

1 - they assume u know they are coming (immediate family, wedding party)

2. - they are still looking for dates if you invite 'guest'

3. - they will send it out the day you say it's due so u'll get it within a week of ur due date

4. - they are looking for an excuse to not go so they hold off until something better comes along, those are the numbskulls!

5 - finally, they just plain suck and have no manners!
