Ceremony and reception in same room?

Are any brides planning on having their ceremony and reception in the same space? My ceremony will be in a ballroom, and during cocktail hour the ballroom will be transformed into the reception area.

Anyone have ideas on how to change the atmosphere from one to another? Lighting, or just general lighting ideas for a ballroom ceremony? Decorations? Thanks!

If it rains we are doing our inside the RH also...
Here is a very pretty picture of an example of how my RH might be decorated.
I think that by adding flowers at the aisle seats & having a nice focal point at the front where you will be standing will add a nice touch.

I am having the same thing, so did my sister and my best friend - beleive me when i tell you that you and your guests will not even realize it is the same room

the way it is set up for a ceremony it totally different for the reception -

where are you having it???

Since were having the ceremony in Central Park Im using the RH as my plan B if it rains. I have no clue how to decorate it. Since the hall doesnt doecorate for us

ive been to weddings where they did that. once they add all the tables & flowers and all the other cr*p you wont even really take notice.

1/2 of our CH will be in the ballroom as well.. its no biggie, they will transform it, noone will notice OR care!

If It rains or is too windy/ cold ours will be in the Ballroom and then transformed during the CH

My ceremony will take place outside while the Reception will be indoors. Im figuring it will be hot as hell in June (fingers crossed) So a cermony lasting less than 30 mins is good and refreshing to be in AC afterwards.
