The moment you've all been waiting for....heehee
We got a house!!!!!!!! WAHOOOOOO!!! We''re going into contract next week!!! We were there with the engineer yesterday for the (3 hour!) inspection!! It went great!! STATS (in case anyone cares) :) 4 BR, 2 FULL (yay) baths, dining room, eat-in-kitchen (smallish), full basement (1/2 finished), 1.5 car attached garage and about .23 of an acre! It''s in Seaford!! OK... so it''s over our budget (slightly), it''s not the *exact* style of home I wanted (I prefer Colonial, it''s a Cape), BUT!!! We love it and we''re doin'' a happy dance! Thanks for all your good wishes, ladies!! :)

Yippeeee!!!!!
Kathi - that's great! Sounds like a great house. We're STILL waiting to close! We can't get the lady out!!! I'm now commuting over an hour each way to work, living with hubby's grandmother in Queens (at least she's a good cook, and I have dinner waiting for me every night!) Our lawyer is telling us we can force the closing in the next 3 or so weeks - before our mortgage commitment expires. I hope she's right. Our first anniversary is coming up at the end of April and I really wanted to be settled in the house by then. I certainly don't want to spend it with him in Boston, and me driving back to NY so I can be at work on Monday morning (our anniversary is a Sunday). Everyone please light a candle and say a prayer for us to get a closing date real soon!

Congrats Kathi!
That's great news!!!! Seaford is a great town. I've lived right next door in Massapequa my whole life. We didn't want a cape either when we were looking and it's exactly what we ended up with. We love our house now!
