Just Celebrated My 1st Year Anniversary in Aruba!!
And it was fabulous!!! I can not believe that a year has all ready flown by!!! It has been a wonderful and challenging experience for me!! Our wedding day is also my birthday and my husband came through with 2 gifts:) as he promised when we signed the contract for the date at the Oheka!! Aruba is GORGEOUS!!! We went to this fabulous French restaurant for our anniversary and they sang to us in French and it was so sweet! We rented a Jeep a drove the whole island on our own. We went on ATV's on our anniversary too which was exhilarating!! Most of the time we just relaxed by the pool and the beach. Aruba is wonderful and I highly reccommend it. I love being married and surely it has it's ups and it's downs...he's loud in the morning when he gets ready for work and I'm still sleeping... I'm an insomniac so I keep the tv on all night...you know the regular stuff... but really it is the most caring and wonderful relationship that I've ever been in and for me (the product of divorced parents) it's sometimes a challenge but he (whose parents still call each other 'my bride' & 'my groom' and are best friends after 33 years) thinks it's been a breeze!! We talked and reviewed the past year and we wouldn't have had it any other way!! Anyway, I'm sorry that I've been so long winded--I just wanted to share and this is the perfect place to do it!! Thank you for the space!! Ayanna--Anubride

Sounds like a beautiful way to celebrate!
Where did you stay in Aruba ..I went there on my Honeymoon..almost a year ago. I totally agree that it has its up and downs.. We bought a house this year...Moved back in with MY parents for 4 months (after living together for 3 years before we were married). So we fight and we argue but everyday we learn something new about each other. My husband is my very best friend in the whole world and I could not picture myself with out him. Congrats and Best wishes to everyone who has an upcoming anniversary.

Ayanna I love the way your inlaws refer to each other, it brought a big smile to my face and re-affirmed the hopeless romantic in me. :-) Happy Anniversary

Bearsbabe...
We stayed at the Wyndham Resort and Casino.. It was really nice and they upgraded us to a suite when we got there! Everyone was so pleasant. We went to Baby Beach on the other side of the island and had GREAT food!!! I know you had a FABULOUS honeymoon!! Thanks for the well wishing!!! Ayanna-Anubride

Aruba Info and Many many thank you's:o)!!!
Thank you all for being so wonderful and supportive!! Truly I pray that all of you have wonderful, lasting, and yes, even challenging marriages that stand the test of time and keep us on our toes... About Aruba... We booked evertyhing online! The Wyndham had a special going on that you could get if you book it directly and it was cheaper than what the travel agent gave me (shop around a lot to get the best price!!). Then, since we booked pretty late (about 10 days before our trip) airfare was not horrible, but not so great either. Suffice to say the comparative rate was about $550pp (i'm sorta anal so I checked LOTS of airlines) and then my mom (who LOVES the net) found a 'internet only' ticket for $100 cheaper on Delta!!! So we had to change planes but it was worth the savings to us!! We don't like all inclusives too much so we didn't get that package, however, food can be pricey depending on how you like to eat!!! Also, check hotels directly to see what they're running because sometimes they have a better deal than any agent!! Check out Libertytravel.com because you can see all the hotels and then link to their direct websites... And Aruba.com, I think... Anywho...I love this site!!! Now back to real life this weekend!! I have to get the lawn done and prepare for room painting!!!! Have a great one... Ayanna

Although, I saw the Wyndham and it looked beautiful, we never got to go check it out on the inside! I wanted to check out all the hotels, but only got to see the inside of the Radisson. We stayed at the Marriott -- last one off the 'strip' -- but it was very nice. Honestly, you can't stay at a bad place there, because all the hotels are so beautiful. We rented a jeep on our own, but I was a bit upset that we never found Baby Beach and some other sites (if I told you the story of how we took the 'scenic' route and almost ended up with no gas in the middle of of what looked like Mars, you would crack up -- not to mention how we almost ran out of gas AFTER we got gas because my DH got a bit confused with the Aruba/US money). We finally found the Natural Bridge and the Rock Formations, by total accident. I wish I was there right now!! Glad you had a great time and your first anniversary was a special one!

Yes, I understand winding up in the middle of what looked like Mars!! That is so funny!! When we hasd the jeep we ONLY found Baby Beach and the lighthouse!!! We didn't see the natural bridge until we went out on ATV's!!! It is so beautiful how you can pull the jeep right up to the cliff's edge and watch the water splash in---BEAUTIFUL... The Marriott is Beautiful!!! I wanted to stay there, but of course when you book your trip 10 days before you leave the were all booked up:o(!! This was actually my first Wyndham resort and I was REALLY happy with it. I would definitely recommend it. When we go back though we want to do a villa, we think... Mars...how funny...that's what it looks like...:o)!!! Ayanna-Anubride
