Girls with a theme... how are you going to explain it to guests?

We are doing a 'travel theme'.. we want each table to be named after a different country we have been to, with maybe a picture on the table of us there and a mini-write-up in the frame.
Also going to have some of our favorite beers from China, Poland, etc. as our signature drink...

My question to you guys.. How do I explain what the heck is going on? The ceremony is at the RH, do I put something in the program? How the heck would I present that?

What are you guys doing?

Honestly I think its VERY self explanitory... Ive heard of alot of girls with this theme and allt he guests understood it. My suggestion- at each table along with the pic, put a little story together. Say when that trip was, what you did there, and why you loved it!

i have seen someone explain their theme on their seating chart board. It was cute!

I am having a Fall Themed wedding, we are going all out Fall and I am easing everyone into it by making my invites fall themed too...

HMMM,, being u guys have traveled so much , maybe u can incorporate that into your invite or something , like ,,

mentioning all the travel youve done , & how youd like for your guest to participate in your next journey as husdand & wife..

How about something like 'come travel the world with us...' in the program or invite...

Mine's a champagne theme so I am hoping that my guests figure it out when they notice all of the colors are champagne/ivory/gold, the tables are named after champages, champagne based drinks, white grapes at the base of the centerpieces, the cake is going to be decorated with white grapes and the favors are going to be sparkling white whine with glass coasters with white grapes on them..

ANYWAY enough about moi..I think programs are a great start. You can write something about all of your favorite places and how they should notice the table names. You can also begin to spread the word at your shower and subtley mention this theme to your mom and BM's. Maybe they can incorporate it into your shower(s).

Another weddng i went to had cars as a theme since he was a car mechanic and crazy about cars... and thats how they met.. ... anyway on each place card that was like the size of an index cad they wrote why u were sitting at table # _____, what that car meant to them and blah blah.....i sat at the Corvette table cuz I was sleek, sexy and classy all in one!!!

The older people had like 57 chevys and what not... it was cute.

We're doing a winter wedding theme since ours is Thanksgiving weekend...all of our invites and decorations, etc. will be red white and black with snowflakes everywhere and our favors are christmas ornaments...i was thinking about naming our tables after christmas songs...do you think that would offend the 2 Jewish couples attending?

If you stick to the more 'Walking in a winter wonderland' and other snowy type songs and avoid all songs praising the baby Jesus Im sure you'll be fine!
