Former brides... please post a picture of your fake nails on your wedding day... and tell me where you went!

I'm willing to go anywhere!

Please tell me what you got (acrylic, UV gel, permanent french acrylic, permanent french UV, etc.), where you went, WHO you used, etc.

I haven't had great experiences, and I'll be willing to drive wherever the week of my wedding to get perfect nails for my wedding day.

My last set of UV gel nails DESTROYED my nails, so now they constantly break and are SO short! I need nails! lol

THANK YOU!

I highly recommend Nothing But The Best Day Spa in Mt. Sinai. They have a website if you are interested in looking over their prices, but They are nothing but great in there. I would recommend Sharon, Jaimie, or Natalie as top choices...But all are good. You can FM me with any questions...

I can't recommend a place for fake nails because I only got them once and they DESTROYED my nails. Since then, I swore I would never get them again.

However, I will recommend something. Use Sally Hansen - Hard as Nails everyday until you get your manicure for your wedding. You will have some sort of nails and they will be so much better.

I agree w/ the latter. Or you can just get a light acrylic put onto your nails about month, or two before the wedding to let your nails grow. Then right before the wedding they can soak, or file it off (less damage to the growth of your nails)and get a silk wrap. It's just a silk strip that goes over your nails to protect them. That what i have. (been doing it since 16)Sorry I have no pic, but 'My' nails look just like Laurens.

I had my nails done in Queens. I had them wrapped about a month before the wedding so that by my wedding day, my real nails would be nice.

Re: Former brides... please post a picture of your fake nails on your wedding day... and tell me where you went!

I've only ever had my nails wrapped (no other kind of fake tip). I think it looks a lot nicer than the other tips, but it still destroys your nails underneath.

I'd recommend getting them wrapped a few weeks before the wedding (2-3) and keeping them wrapped for the wedding. The wraps stay on 6-8 weeks.

When you finally soak them off, though, your nails won't be as nice as they were before you had them wrapped.

my nails SUUCK now because of the UV Gel nails I put on in August. . And they're short. With 16 days on the countdown, I think my only choice is to go fake.

I would wrap over any other kind. You can still do an extension with a wrap.

I'll probably have my nails wrapped for our wedding, too!

I like June Nail in Garden City personally, but I've been getting my nails done (regular manicure) in NYC now -- easier with work! (And a nice break!)

Re: Former brides... please post a picture of your fake nails on your wedding day... and tell me where you went!

acrylic full set...... or the forever french....I have been going to her for almost 13 years....not always with acrylic..lol....but she is honestly phenomenal (sp?) I recently had to take my nails off because of my work schedule and I was literally crying. I cannot say enough about her. If you can't get an appoitment...let me know and I will see if I can pull any strings..lol....
p.s. I have had my nails on for about 5 years and just took them off and they really aren't that bad...suprisingly because most times they are if they are not done correctly....anyway I'm babbling..lol...FM if you need anymore info..

Re: Former brides... please post a picture of your fake nails on your wedding day... and tell me where you went!

I got a few recommendations on here, but a friend of mine gave me place right around the corner from me..its on Main Street in Holbrook and its called nail tek 2

Ive been going there for a few weeks and havent had a problem with my nails-AND i always have, they start to lift after a couple of days. I get pink & white, excpet without the pink, I get the clear instead b/c the pink glows outside.

Good Luck it took me forever to find a place I liked

Re: Former brides... please post a picture of your fake nails on your wedding day... and tell me where you went!

Rocky Point Nails.
$23 for a fill (with French)
Around $25 for a full set of acrylics.
Tina or Brendan
Picture is in album under wedding. Took pic today (almost two weeks after I got them done)
French manicure with a pale pink and a silver line seperating the pink and the white. I had HORRIBLE nails. My nails and cuticles used to bleed. I have been getting acrylics for about 15 months now from Rocky Point Nails and I love them.
