Ordered Bridesmaid dresses BUT!!!....... Vendor rant..kinda long!

we ordered the bridesmaids dresses yesterday (at lillettes) and the nice lady that was supposed to be helping us was busy so the owner was helping us. Well my aunt who is my one MOHs mother was with us and found a dress she wanted to order for the wedding... the lady told her thats a bridesmaid dress and doesnt fit well on OLDER people...so what if she was one of my bridesmaid???? How does her age detremine what dress she can wear? The dress was not inapprriate or anything and the size there fit her bc she is a twig! That made no sense...then she says that the order would have to be placed seperate and since it would be a single order the alterations would be $195.00 the dress only cost $155.00.....so my other cousin said why cant you order it with ours and she said then I would have to do that for everyone and I cant... I ordered my dress there and all my bridesmaid and they couldnt do this?? Im giving them business!!!! Am i wrong???

You are NOT wrong at all. I would be furious. And I would make sure they knew it.
Threaten them ( ) and tell her you'll never do business there agin and you'll make sure all your LIW friends don't either if they can not accomodate you!

If I were you i would have not put throught the order for the bridesmaid dresses. I would told her to forge the order and uw ill go order them elsewhere

This happened yesterday...do you think its to late to stop the order and then I am getting my dress from there...i dont want them to mess it up on me!!

Its not too late to stop the order. NYS law gives you 3 business days to cancel without penality. I would just cancel the order. Your dress should be no problem, as I found out that's where salon's make their money, so I don't think they would do something sneaky about your dress.

Honestly?! If the girls gave a deposit its too late.. if not then call and cancel. thats is poor business what they did .

You're not wrong at all. The's absolutely insane that the alterations would cost that much. Unless your aunt needs major alterations, and I mean major, like changing the entire dress, it shouldn't cost more than $100.

I haven't heard any nice things about Lilettes lately.

Yes Lillettes was great the 1st few times I went there, I couldnt have been happier and yesterday I think everything would have been fine, If my appointment would have been kept with Geri ( But another bride showed up to her appontment before me late and was holding Geri over) so I got stuck with the owner who was not nice!!! I have been hearing not so great things lately either and now I am nerveous about it all.

No, you are not wrong! The reason she is doing this is b/c MOB dresses & dresses she wants your aunt to buy are much more expensive (over $500) so she is trying to make the profit with the alterations!

Let you aunt buy it there and alter it at her neighborhood tailor.... or better yet-- get the style # and go to another shop!

What is with Bridal salons - you would think they would treat people better - both at reception desks and consultants!

Absolutely not. That was extremely rude and inappropriate of her. she should be accomodating all your wishes----Your are giving her business!

I already bought my dress and BM dresses from there too, but if I were you I wouldn't buy anything else from them.
