RP FROM BHB BOARD...I'M A LITTLE SAD...

Why does it feel like lately no one cares about the 06'ers who recently got married? Is it me? I find that no one shows interest anymore..not like they did for the Summer Brides anyway ...and it's pretty sad. I used to look forward to coming here and posting away..but now when I post..I'm lucky if I get a response. I'm defenitely not trying to offend anyone..but I can honestly say it's not fun on here anymore for me.....and that makes me sad.

Awww, sorry to hear you feel that way.

I think it has a lot to do with all of the hype and attention of YOUR wedding and then the day is over. You want that feeling of being noticed again. Don't worry, we are all here for you and your wedding was beautiful!

as an 'earlier' 06'er, I don't mean to not show interest in other's weddings. I'm just so out of wedding mode. I didn't think that it would happen so quickly. I am still here to support all the 06'ers left! For me, I don't know many of the 'late' 06'ers & it makes it harder for me to be so interested. Don't take it personal!

I still love to see pictures & hear reviews!!!!

I completely understand your frustration. As a early Winter 2006 bride I never had a date twin. It may sound silly, but it was kinda sad. I remember seeing all of you and the post wishing good luck to like 7 girls. I'm still here and will be till the end but being its been over 9 months married, I find myself on lifamilies more and more.

I think it is natural that the boards have slowed down. and a lot of the teachers are back at work..BUT

I am going to agree with Jessica and Kerry. I was an early 06er too. Those of us who got married earlier in the year often used resources from 05ers because we didnt have too many girls that were dealing with final fittings or last minute issues. The ladies getting married later in the year were not really at the same level of 'bridal mode' as we were. Invites werent out. They werent working on seating charts and they werent yet at the point where they were concerned about their DH's and strippers. This is probably what you are experiencing but from the other direction. People have moved on from their weddings and on to other phases of their lives. Some of the ladies are about to become parents already.

Things started to pick up in March and April here. The bulk of the 06ers were getting married between May and August and there was a lot of weddings and information flying back and forth on the boards and between brides. Personally, I had 11 or 12 weddings other than my own this year between my friends and DH's friends. They fell upon a bell curve that looked like the one below which is pretty much the way things look here. (Forgive my horrible drawing skills).

HOWEVER, there were lots of hugs and people did the best they could to support us early on in the year. I also remember a few late 05ers who were (and still are) very good to us like Kerie, Gail and Beth who, as far as I am concerned were honorary 06ers offering invaluable advice. They joined us at GTGs too. We are not exclusive to ourselves, as there are many brides on these boards in 07 and 08 who depend and look forward to the weddings and reviews of 06ers.

I am amazed how quickly I fell out of wedding mode once my own was over. I still check in here regularly, but I am not on here as much as I was.
It's been nice settling into married life, and spending time with my DH at night (where previously I would come home, eat, and get on LIW). I miss the excitement of the planning, but now that it is over, I pop on quick to see pics and read reviews, so even though you feel like no one is responding, I just think there are more lurkers now then posters.



GOLDI - I can say in the year and a half I have been on, that is the first bell curve that has ever been posted. I love that you gotta be you. Keep rockin, girl. (Insert favorite 06 rockin pic here).

it makes me sad that it's not fun for you anymore... but i'm sure i'm part of the problem, even though i got married the same week as you... i haven't been on as much lately. i guess i got out of the swing of being consumed with the site, while i was rushing around at the end preparing, and then being away for 2 weeks. since i've been back, i've just been so busy - and haven't really come on. or when i have, i've lurked more than posted. but i still care about you and all the girls!! i love everyone and this site!!

I dont think you should take it personally. The boards started slowing down around September. I am also a late 06 bride and I know I am not on as much as I was in the summer (my peak in planning and finalizing). And now with the holidays just around the corner, I am sure they will be even slower.
BTW - I just looked at your proofs and they are AMAZING. Congrats.

I ended up spending time on the 06 board because I was a late 05er and it got really quiet by the end of the year. I planned my wedding in 11 months. Some of the 05ers were already planning for a year or two before I came here and many of them already knew each other. I got a lot of help from BOTH the 05ers and 06ers but we were not all in the same place at the same time. Still, LIW is a big part of my life, and my wedding was a year ago this weekend!!! Trust me, everyone DOES care!

Im suprised they are this slow...after all, no fairs, festivals or beaches..just cold weather. Why isn't everyone inside!
