Having trouble getting pregnant
How long does it usually take to get pregnant? We have been trying for about 7 months and nothing! My doctor said I can go for this test where they look at your ovaries and stuff through your bellybutton! Has anyone heard of this???

Re: Having trouble getting pregnant
I use the ovulation tests so I know I am ovulating. He wants to check for any blockage. Personally I think I have a hormone imbalance, and he wants my husband to get his sperm checked. Plus the test that I wrote about.

Re: Having trouble getting pregnant
It took my husband and I, 9 months to get pregnant. I went and had blood tests done and my husband went for the sperm analysis. I never went for that other test, I was going to go @ the end of this year if I didn't get pregnant. I continued to use the ovulation tests and tried from a few days before ovulation up until a few days after. My OBGYN said that I had to try from the 8th day of my cycle to the 20th day. But since I new I ovulated about the 12th-13th day. We tried from that point and everyother day until about the 20th day of my cycle. With my schedule and my husbands, Oct was finally the month that we where consistant and it worked.Best wishes to you.
Baby dust all the way.

Re: Having trouble getting pregnant
Hi. I'm having a lot of trouble also. I've been TTC for over 1 year now. My doctor put me through so many test already and found nothing wrong. I just recently had Laporscopic surgery, when they go through your belly button. It wasn't worth all the pain. They still didn't find anything wrong with me or my husband. Make sure your doctor checks your blood to see if you're ovulating and your hormonal levels. If you need further classfication after that I would go for the HSG test before going through surgery. The HSG test is a lot less pain and less recovery time. Good Luck!!!! Best of Luck.

Re: Having trouble getting pregnant
Please dont get discouraged. If you have a regular 26-28 cycle, you should BD every other day from day 9-16. Try it and you'll prob get preggo, unless theres a serious underlying condition.

Re: Having trouble getting pregnant
They say of couples having unprotected sex, 85% will end up pg at the end of a year. The test your doctor told you about, is that also called a dye test or something? where dye is put in your tubes to see if there is any blockage? Maybe try charting your cycles. You may ovulate early or have a short luteal phase (the period between ovulation and when your period shows up) if it's shorter than 10 days you may get pg but not sustaining it. Toni Weschler's Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a great resource and can help you maybe pinpoint some stuff before going through all kinds of testing. Good luck, hun!Welcome New Vendors
