Lands End Review
I attended a wedding at Lands End on 6/7.Coktail Hour -
The cocktail hour was semi set up to be outside, but due to the weather it was moved inside. The food was plentiful and delicious. They were plenty of tables for the guests to sit (big plus), but many decided to mingle in the bar. The steel drum band was great, but again due to the weather were stuck in the corner and could not be enjoyed if you were in another room. The tables were decorated w/ votive candles and maroonish colored tablecloths. Even the bathrooms were gorgeous.
Reception
Alll the tables had at least 12 people and there was still enough room to walk around. The centerpeices were red roses in a low 'faux silver' container -> beautiful. Almost immediately upon finding our seats the wait staff began taking dinner orders. I felt that this was very rushed and they should have waited until after the introductions. We had a ceasar salad, trio ravioli, and I had the chicken, FI had the sea bass. Everyone raved about the food. The table was somewhat cluttered w/ all the glasses, but everyone seemed to manage. Not a huge fan of the 'get up, sit down, here comes the main course' routine, but everything went very smoothly.
The wait staff was great, but very busy. The bartenders were slammed and often forgot who we after tippng them $20. I think this was due to the fact that ther were almost 300 guests.
All in all we had a great time. Food was amazing. Plenty of room to roam and explore. Very classy and 'homey' feel. I highly recommend Lands End. You will not be disappointed!
I asked about dates for next summer and they are practically booked solid. Price went up as well ->$130 p/perosn for a Friday in June.
ENJOY!

Re: Lands End Review
yabbobay -The bar really wasn't that bad. It was only during the reception did it get backed up a little. The bartenders were very nice, but I think somewhat overwhelmed by the all the drinkers. I don't think many people took advantage of the table wait staff.
One suggestion -> definetly take advantage of the outside facilities. Due to the weather, we were not able to enjoy the beautiful grounds.
BTW - did you know that they are designing an area in the back courtyard for pictures? The bartender said that it should be completeted any day now.
