Live in Queens...Reception in LI...Florist where???
I am getting married in Queens and my reception is in Nassau...I want to use a florist in LI but I'm worried about having the flowers delivered to my house on time...would it be smart to use two different florists or should i just stick with one...Would I get a better price if I used only one???Help???

Re: Live in Queens...Reception in LI...Florist where???
Stick with one, definitely. Any florist that is a professional and experienced at wedding flowers will have no problem getting all your flowers where they need to be. I got married in Queens and had the reception on LI, I used Murphy Florists in Bay Terrace shopping center in Bayside. They did a really nice job. Best wishes!

Re: Live in Queens...Reception in LI...Florist where???
Licia, I live in Queens and my reception was at the Sand Castle -- which we talked about in another post -- I used Jay W. Becker (house vendor) and they had no problem coming to Astoria/Jackson Heights and then going to the Sand Castle for the centerpieces. I was going to do two different florists also, but then I realized that you get a better deal if you deal w/just one and then it's less stress because you're not worrying about one more vendor!
Where in Queens do you live?

My 2 friends used Murphy's florist in Bay Terrace. One got married in Queens & reception was in Nassau. The other got married out in Long Island & they did a great job. I am definitely going to use them. The flowers were amazing & reasonably priced.

Where in Queens and Long Island? I think we 'talked' before about florists, either here or another site, but the florist I used (Jay W. Becker) is in Floral Park, right over the Queens/Nassau border, on Jericho Turnpike, right across the street from Floral Terrace. It's a quick ride from there to Queens!

i agree with everyone saying that you should use one florist. It's one less vendor to keep tabs on, you always do better price wise with a larger order, and I am sure they make multiple deliveries all the time.I am so happy to hear about the positive response Murphy's is getting. We met with them and booked them almost on the spot. Our ceremony & reception are both in nassau.

You may want to check out Pedestals. They have locations in both Mineola andOzone Park (right across from Russo's on the Bay). I'm using them and have heard
great things about them.

Re: Live in Queens...Reception in LI...Florist where???
I live in Queens and reception is LI. I am using Flowers by Brian in LI. My friend's family has used them for three weddings so far and they all live in Queens and had LI receptions. She had no problems what so ever. My brother who is also in Queens and having a LI recption are using them too.I looked at Pedalstals in Howard Beach (it is so close to my mom's house (Ozone Park) and the church I am getting married at(HB)) but like Flowers By Brian better. I went to the HB location and they were very pushy and wanted you too commit to so much so soon. I have heard good things about their work though.

Same thing, I live in Queens and the reception is in LI. I'm using Queens Garden Nursery in Whitestone. They will deliver anywhere and they did my cousins and friends (who both live in queens and had receptions at swan club and Cresthollow) and they were beautiful. Also, they were a lot cheaper and nicer than anyone i dealt with.

Ok I'm confused....I got married and live in Queens and my reception was in Sufffolk, the florist is in Queens and the flowers were delivered to my house and it worked out fine. I used Flowerama in Ridgewood..my flowers were gorgeous and a friend just used them at her wedding recently and it was nice to see they are consistent, her flowers were absolutely beautiful.

Im getting married in January and im new to the boards, this is realy great being able to learn so much from everyone, I shopped a few florists and I went with Pedestals in Mineola, They were very helpful and made me feel comfortable.
