ADVICE NEEDED ASAP
I booked with the WOODBURY COUNTRY CLUB more than one year ago. I'm getting married in the fall. At the time of signing the contract, we had asked about a tasting and the associate assured us it would be arranged. I've just received a letter regarding selection of the menu. When I inquired if I could bring my mother to the tasting, the receptionist informed me there was no tasting. I was in SHOCK. We paid top dollar and already paid some money. I asked HOW we were to do a menu selection if we didn't know what the food tasted like and informed her of the associate's name. The general manager wasn't in and would have to get back to me. Furthermore, I know of two acquaintances who were married there and they both had tastings. DOES ANYONE HAVE INFORMATION REGARDING TASTINGS AT THIS HALL? Now, I'm worried that we'll get shoddy treatment on my big day.Woodbury Country Club

Re: ADVICE NEEDED ASAP
This place is supposed to be wonderful. Sounds to me like a misunderstanding. I am sure when you get somebody who knows what they are TALKING about it will be fine!

Re: ADVICE NEEDED ASAP
I booked the Woodbury and have encountered no problems whatsoever. I'm sure there was a misunderstanding. Try to speak to someone else there. You can arrange a tasting. You need not worry about the Woodbury Country Club. They have an excellent track record and their food is wonderful.

Re: ADVICE NEEDED ASAP
I agree with jennbaby, you should call and ask to speak to the manager. Food tastings are standard practice at these type of places when you have your wedding booked there. Whoever you spoke to must have been misinformed or confused.

Re: ADVICE NEEDED ASAP
I looked for halls several weeks ago, and went to WCC and one of the managers asked us if we were hungry, and we told them we were just about to go get lunch. They preceded to sit us in a private room and serve us an entire meal, soup to nuts, wih dessert, and we were only there for an initial visit. By the way, the food was very good, and their menu choices are excellent!

Re: ADVICE NEEDED ASAP
I agree with some of the others. I would insist on speaking to the manager. Sometimes it is better if you go in there and talk to the manager. THey may be a little more accomodating because they don't want you to start a scene and they also want to look as though they are extremely accomodating to any prospective clients.
