Baby Photo Slide Show/Montage
Hi everyone. My fiance & I want to do some type of photo montage/slide show thing at our rehersal dinner, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I don't want to spend a ton of money or hire anyone, but I have no clue what I'm doing & I'm not very high tech. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Baby Photo Slide Show/Montage
I definitley suggest finding a friend to do it! I have been going crazy to try and find someone, and the cheapest I could get was 799$, for a total of 20 photo's that I want played for about 10 minutes during the father/daughter mother/son dance. That's insane. The arguement was that they can't drag in or out the equipment during the party, so they will have to be there the whole time. Guess that may change things since the dinner will be a much shorter time though. good luck!

Do you own a laptop? If you do, you can rent a portable projector (not sure where though) so you can run a Powerpoint presentation. If you can connect the audio to a speaker, you can also have audio accompanyment.
Without a laptop, there really is no easy way.

Re: Baby Photo Slide Show/Montage
This is a suggestion and what I am doing. My sister makes montage videos. If you can get a television/vcr, you could just throw in the video. She does an amazing job and is very affordable depending on the amount of pictures you want it could be $39. It includes an opening and closing page and the music and pictures. If you want to email me for more information its babeyblu16@aol.com Hope this helps

Re: Baby Photo Slide Show/Montage
At my friends wedding, her friends made slides up from old photographs. Because the rehearsal dinner was at a hotel, the hotel was able to offer the use of a slide projector (since they have a lot of business events at the venue).
If you want to create slides - you'd have to pay for the conversion to slides + rent a slide projector & screen (just look in the yellow pages -- probably under rentals / business equipment). Alternatively, you could do the PowerPoint slide show -->which, if you have a scanner, wouldn't cost anything to load the photos - you can even add music (that option is under special effects or animation or something). You'd need a laptop with a projector (there's a special one made to plug into a PC), and a screen. Again, if you don't have any of these, you could rent them.
Good luck.

Re: Baby Photo Slide Show/Montage
THere are places that will take photos and put them to video (I actually think Walmart might do it). But you will need a TV/VCR setup at your RD. If you want to try and do it on a PC, you need a PC monitor that is large enough for everyone to see. Most household monitors are not big enough.

Re: Baby Photo Slide Show/Montage
We saw this at a wedding. They used a regular slide projector and slides.
To be honest though, we were pretty bored. It was cute for a few minutes, but after that we were ready to move on to other parts of the evening. If you are going to do this, I would keep it short.

Re: Baby Photo Slide Show/Montage
Hey I make slideshows onto dvds... not sure if this is easier for you or not... it can also be viewed on the computer. I made a slideshow for my best friend recently of the two of us over the past 16 years and it was great! Let me know if you are interested or not we can work something out!
