I just know that my sister will be my maid of honor and my FH's best friend will be his best man. We still dont know how many people we want in the bridal party.

But we have ideas on who we want...but so much can change in 2 years

Hey there, I'm new! Even though my wedding isn't until March 2009 I've already asked everyone to be in the Bridal Party because most of the members are family. We do have an uneven amount though, 9 girls and 8 guys. I don't know what to do about that.

You don't have to do anything about that...You don't need to have an even bridal party, many people do the same thing. As long as you have those you care for and want there to stand by your side is all that matters.

As of now, Fh has 11 guys and i have about 9-10 girls so not sure yet if mine will be even either

Actually, this is advice that I received from an 06er when I got engaged!

So many of the 06 girls had trouble with their bridal parties and some even ended up firing bridesmaids! They suggested waiting until closer to the wedding to ask your bridal party.

Wedding planning is a funny thing, it brings out diferent sides of people that you never imagined existed.

I'm not suggesting that you hold off on asking siblings .... just that you really take the time to examine your friendships before you ask people in the midst of all the excitment!

yeah that is what most people do...also depends though...some ceremonies are different...the groomsmen dont walk down the aisle they are by the grooms and the bridesmaids walk down alone...either way it will work out fine

I've thought about it. I know my sister will be my MOH and I have a good idea what 2 other friends I'll ask to be my bridesmaids. FH has an idea too but we haven't set anything stone yet. We're going to wait until we get closer to the wedding.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the site.
Yes I've already asked my girls. I'm trying to keep it simple - the more people the more drama. I've been a witness to what can happen.
My sister (going to be 14 this year) and my cousin (going to be 22 this year) are both my maids-of-honor. My other cousin and my future sister-in-law are my brides maids. My fiance Chris didn't officially ask / pick the guys. I have no flower girl but plenty of lil boys to walk down the isle.
