My sister is looking for a ceremony officiant
Hello Brides. Wow, writing this post I'm a bit scared. I know I dont think I'm supposed to post here , well thats pretty obvious! Well, here goes!My sister is being married on August 24th, this year!
Being in the industry I was able to pretty much arrange everything for her, from Entertainment, to flowers, photography, video etc. . . . etc.... etc.... theres a whole list of ect.'s !
Just today she calls me, she doesn't have anyone to actually perform the ceremony ! ! ! ! !
She wants someone NON-religious
Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated ! Sorry in advance, I know im not supposd to post here, but lets just pretend this is a seperate little Brides helping Vendors ...with sisters....section
. I would ask vendors I know , but , none of them have ever actaully used any officiants themselves, and i rather send her to just a few recommended ones.Any help would be greatly appreciated ! !!
Thanks LI Brides!!
Dennis

Re: SORRY, But My sister is looking for a ceremony officiant
Hi Dennis...I can only tell you what I am doing.
I was fed up with officiants...so we had our friend ordained over the internet... Universal Life Church
I researched this and it is legal in NYS...but not NYC...
if your sister has questions please have her (or you can too) email me.
hope this helps!!

Did you try to search on here for officiants? Also, go to www.weddingchannel.com, message boards, NY. You might be able to get some help from those girls too.We never mind helping a bride!

Re: SORRY, But My sister is looking for a ceremony officiant
I'm using Revered April from the Church of Ancient Ways. My FH and I are having a nonreligious ceremony and she has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She is extremely talented!! Reverend April posts on the vendor boards all the time, so I would post this on that board as well.

We are using Father Sal Umana. There are also a ton of posts on Father Wilshere. If you do a search you should be able to find info. (just go to search and put in the names)

Re: My sister is looking for a ceremony officiant
Hi Dennis-We're using a representative from the Ethical Humanist Society. They are a non-religous organization and so far, have been wonderful to work with. They have chapters all over the country. You can search for them online.
Good luck to your sister!

Re: My sister is looking for a ceremony officiant
I also recommend Rev. April. She is kind, patient, caring, and very talented. She performed our ceremony (almost 1 mth ago now!) and a lot of people commented on how wonderful she was and how beautiful the ceremony was. She works with you every step of the way and doesn't quit until the ceremony is just how you like it! (believe me, I know!).As far as having a non-religious ceremony, she will make it as religious or as non-religious as the couple wants. I wish your sis all the best and lots of luck with her decision!
