NWR: Kindergarten Teachers I need help!

Hi,
I teach Social Studies enrichment for K-7. I am stuck on lesson plans for kindergarten.

I have already done the community and community helpers.

I have to supply all of my own books, supplies and carry them all around too.

Have any ideas?? I can use many.........
Many ideas that I have or ones from the internet have proved to be to difficult for them..

Thanks

Re: NWR: Kindergarten Teachers I need help!

I posted a question about Maps before and I got some good suggestions such as taking pictures of the school and having them tell me where it is.

I think it will be too difficult for them now. I was going to wait a little later in the year.

Do you know what it is like to have a lesson that completely flops right in front of yor eyes???

I love teaching and ther kids (even the bad ones)
I have a million issues with this postion. I only see the kids once or twice a week and therefore they can get a bit rowdy.

Also, there are two with extreme behavior issues. They upset the whole class.

How would you go about teaching maps???

Thanks

Re: NWR: Kindergarten Teachers I need help!

I have a fantastic one for Martin Luther King day-it combines art and social studies and literacy. Basically its a poem about colors and how we need all the colors in the world to create a perfect world. I found it online awhile ago and actually did it with my best friend kindy class. What you do for the art portion is create a huge crayon box like crayola box and then use a crayon template to create a crayon outline for each child so they can color it themselves on whatever color of construction paper they are given. Then you put them all in a box labeled 'Ms.____'s box of crayons: they are beautiful as individuals but even better as a whole.'

I have the original lesson plan and several others if you need them. FM me with your email address if you are interested and I will send them over.
