Band members-do you have to tip them too?

We're already paying a pretty steep price for our band, but I was wondering if we are supposed to tip the band members after the wedding? Or would it just be appropriate to tip the band member who acted as MC?

If we had to tip everyone, it could get very expensive!

Any ideas?

we gave one tip to be distributed to all the members. I think if you're going to tip, it should be to everyone, not just the MC.

I think we do pretty much end up tipping EVERYONE!

This was a hard question for us too and like the others, we tipped everyone. I actually asked the band leader what they prefered, gratuity or food - they chose gratuity and so we didn't feed them. I don't know if this helps - but do what is in your means, you are already paying them, so a tip is not necessary, it's just extra!

We had an 8 piece band - we fed them (it was half price) and tipped them as well. They did an awesoem job for us. We gave each member $25 - for a total band tip of $200.
