Swimming pool repair - any recommendations ? HELP :)

DH has noticed that we have a leak in the pool somewhere. The water lowers every single day, about 1-2 inches.
Who do we call for something like this ? A coworker of his referred him to someone who charges $150 an hour. What if it takes 10 hours to find where this leak is coming from ?? I thought that was a bit outrageous. Any suggestions ?

Re: Swimming pool repair - any recommendations ? HELP :)

Anna, we had the same problem last year, and called Pal Pools (1-888-PAL-POOLS), and they were able to trouble shoot the problem. Unfortunately, we ended up needing a new light and liner, because that's where our leak was. Hopefully you will not have our bad luck!
As for price, Patrick likes to get the best work for the lowest price, so I'm guessing it was fair.
Good luck!

I'm glad I could help with pool troubles! We really liked them too, so I'm happy that so far you've had the same good impression.

As for lunch, I would love too! This week is a little tight for me, but next week and any time after would be great.

Re: Swimming pool repair - any recommendations ? HELP :)

Jenn, just thought i'd give you a laugh, we (DH and I) feel like we're always the ones that go into the car shop for an oil change and walk out with an $1800 bill. !

Well Pal Pools was just here. We need a new liner. It's 14years old, and the guy saw pinholes all over the place. So the couple of hundred bucks to patch up holes quickly turned into $2500.... yikes !

They were very knowledgeable and helpful tho !

See ya soon !

I did have to laugh because that happened to us too, only we needed to replace our light as well since it was rotting!
Which liner did you choose? Ours is dark blue with a darker blue design.

Re: Swimming pool repair - any recommendations ? HELP :)

On the website http://www.merlinindustries.com, I chose the style 'Cozumel Tile' which is dark blue with dark blue design. How funny !

DH picked a lighter one. He said he was recommended not to go too dark, YET he saw the neighbors pool, dark blue, looked like a lagoon and he LOVEEEDD it. (And of course the wife always picks the patterns, lol, especially if she's 7 months pregnant ! HAH.)

Do you have any digital pics of how your pool looks with the dark ? I really wanna see how it looks. Well I plan to do some pool browsing, our block is having a block party this weekend, lol.

Re: Swimming pool repair - any recommendations ? HELP :)

I saw your liner, and it's beautiful! Ours is more like the tye dye pattern at the bottom of the page, but a similiar color scheme to yours. Like you said, it looks like a lagoon, and is gorgeous (and dirt is hard to see too! )!

I don't have any digital pictures, but I do have a bunch on a roll of film in my camera that isn't finishe yet. I'm going to a wedding today, so I'll finish the fim, develop it and scan pictures for you. I think you'll be happy with the dark blue. It really is so pretty!!
