DJ or Photographers on Long Island
Does anyone know of a good DJ...I don't want all the fluff, just someone who will play the songs I want and do announcements. Also, any recommendations for a good photographer? I don't even know where to begin!! Help! The Harrison House is very nice. My company has had conferences there. The grounds are breathtaking and the food is excellent! They have a very interesting cocktail hour set-up with different rooms featuring differnet food. Also, since it is a hotel, it makes it sooo convenient for your out of town guests. Anyway, I hope this helps a little! Good Luck,

Christina, The DJ I work with is Sal from Top Spin. He can be alone or with a female singer. Very classy. I'll get you the phone # when I get into the studio (or call me @ 473-7752) Also, Heart and Soul (Mike and Marie) also do just the two of them as a DJ singing team. I think you can find them through Franklin Wayne. Mark

Try Celebrity Music's Jay Letterman (he does a nightly show in WALK-FM). His prices are great and he'll do whatever you want.... www.celebmusic.com or (516)447-1615 Mark

I just hired High Energy Entertainment in Ronkonkoma. They are very flexible and play only what you want. Ralph will send you check lists of what you do and don't want. He is extremely reasonable and I attended a wedding that he personally did. He's great. On another note, we also debated about response cards. Since I'm the one doing all the preparations I had wanted the responses to come directly to me. That didn't seem appropriate if we use the traditional wording on the invite. So, response cards are now going to my parents. Then I'll get them from them. Not my ideal choice, but it's not worth an arguement.

At my wedding this past November I chose 4 Star Entertainment (751-3734). The DJ, Ernie was fantastic! The dance floor was full the entire nite. Everyone and I mean everyone, from my husbands grandmother to co workers were dancing all nite long. Im still getting compliments on our reception and everyone is still talking about our wonderful DJ. P.S. He sings too and is very reasonable in price! One important note - WHEN THE TIDE IS OUT THAT WHOLE AREA SMELLS LIKE ROTTEN EGGS! : -( Very nasty - and something important to consider. I always close my window when driving to the airport......
