My offical 1st 2007 tahiti Review (as promised)
Well, between myself, Camacho and kittythestray, you girls will have no problem!!!First, we left on the Monday after the wedding, we orginally had the direct flights but they got cancelled and we had to stop in LA. We got to Tahiti at 1:30 AM and checked into the Radisson. We had a oceanview room the was really nice. Early the next afternoon we got a flight to Moorea. Its a 10 minute flight and the plane holds about 12 people.
We got to Moorea and checked into the Moorea Pearl Beach Resort & Spa. Its was beautiful. We had a beach bungalow that was great. That afternoon we checked out the area and went to bed! The next day we went and had massages since it was Valentines day. That night we went to the Tiki Village for dinner and a show. It was nice. That night we collasped, we were exhausted.
The next day we went on the Belvedere tour which was really nice, you got to see the mountains and the rum factory, great views! The next day we went to the Moano Lagoon Excursion tour. It was great, we fed the sharks and stingrays and had picnic on a Motu.
The next day was Saturday ans we flew to Bora Bora (one hour) we took a water taxi to the Bora Bora Pearl Resort & Spa. It was to die for! We got an overwater bungalow where you could feed the fishes from the inside of the coffee table. On Sunday we did the shark & Ray feeding again! On Monday we did the 4 Wheel drive tour which took us up the mountains to the cannons that were there from WW II. The views were amazing. That night we had dinner at Bloody Marys. This is a must. Make sure your hotel makes you reservations. The resturant will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. The food was great and the place is very entertaining!
The next day was Tuesday and we were leaving later that afternoon. First, I have to tell you that Tahiti is HOT! The airports are very remote. No airconditioning!. So, we had to check out at 11:00 am. We did not have to leave until 3:45. So we decided to get a day room. It was about 60.00. We did some snorkeling, went in the pool and then went to the day room and took showers and got ready. We left Bora Bora at 4:45 PM and got Tahiti at 5:55 PM. We were not leaving unitl 10:00 PM THAT NIGHT!!! Now, I have to tell you, we were sweating to death! I was having a heart attack. We had nothing to do for 4hours!...The airport was sweltering and people were drenched in sweat! Jorge said to me, 'We are upgrading to business class for this flight.' which is about 8 hours to LA. I was saying 'No, Way' It cost 800.00 to upgrade. Jorge went ahead and did it. After that we got a invitation to the business class lounge and let me tell you, theres no other way to fly!!! It was airconditioned, they had food and TV and games. Jorge will not let me live that down! Not only that, the seats on the plane reclined like beds! It was great. If you can afford it, do it! We got to LA 8:15 the next morning, the flight to NY was at 11:30 and we got into JFK at 7:30 PM. A lot of traveling but sooo worth it!
So now, heres what I recommend:
1. Watch the sun, its a killer!
2. Bring bug spray, I sprayed myself all the time and had no problem.
3. Bring bread from dinner to feed the fishes.
4. Bring water shoes! I got them at Walmart for $5.00
5. They do not accept Euros, only Francs. (Its french)
6. Exchange money in the airport, its better.
7. Buy a phone card on the Island, use the pay phones.
8. You dont have to tip there.
9. Do not over pack, you do not need much.
10. Bring your own snorkeling stuff, I got it at Island rec for $8.00.
11. We did the meal plan, which I suggest, the food can be very expensive.
12. Bring an adaptor for your electronics.
13. Buy a black pearl, you just have to!
14. Get an underwater camera
I think thats it, I got great ideas from Camacho's review so make sure you read it. When I figure out how to post the pictures, I will. Hope this helps you guys!

We stayed at a premium, I dont know what the difference is, someone said it was just the location.
