Hawaii Honeymoon - Packing

Hi Guys,

I know I'm not supposed to post over here yet, but wanted to ask the Hawaii honeymooners what they packed?

I'm going away for 2 weeks and can't even imagine how much stuff I need.

Any advice would be great!

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon - Packing

I went for 2 weeks - and I packed way too much!! Bring a couple of bathing suits, cover-ups, a lot of shorts & tee shirts. Most places are very casual, the most dressed up I got was a khaki skirt. I brought 2 dresses and never wore them.

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon - Packing

annies right, you won't need nearly as much clothes as you think. But definitely a couple of suits and coverups, few shorts, and a sundress or two for elegant dining. Maybe a light sweater for cool nights on the beach. Also, if you plan on biking down Mt. Haleakela and/or watching the sunrise, bring a pair of long pants and a fleece or sweatshirt. If you bike they give you a nylon sweat suit and gloves but I was still freeezing!

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon - Packing

So do you think 1 pair of jeans and 1 fleece is enough? I don't think we're going to do the bikeride, but probably go up there with the Jeep we rented.

I do plan on going horseback riding so I definitely need jeans!

Did you guys do a lot of activities, or mostly relax by the pool?

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon - Packing

We relaxed by the pool/beach a lot, but we still did quite a few activities. On Oahu, we went to Pearl Harbor, and also did a submarine excursion. On Kauai, we drove all around the island. On Maui, we did the Road to Hana, the Old Lahaina Luau, and also drove around the island. We went in late June for 2 weeks. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon - Packing

Annie, I'm doing the same vacation as you! In that order...

Oahu, Kaui and Maui. I definitely want to see Pearl Harbor so we'll do that. I heard the road to Hana was amazing, yet very adventurous!

I'm so excited! Where did you stay?

I also heard food was expensive and my friend recommended buying wine/drinks for the hotel room. Did you guys find it very expensive as well?

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon - Packing

Hi Mrs2Be - You will love Hawaii- you must be excited! We stayed at the Hyatt in Waikiki on Oahu, the Hyatt on Kaui and the Fairmont Kea Lani on Maui. All were beautiful. I did not think the food was overly expensive, but I guess it depends where you go. Oahu was definitely more reasonable than the other 2 islands I think. We tended to grab whatever for breakfast/lunch and splurge more on dinnner, but I think there are a lot of options. Where are you staying?

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon - Packing

Annie,

We're staying at Waikiki Parc in Oahu
Kauai Marriott in Kauai and
Westin Maui in Maui.

Hopefully they're good. That's what the travel agent recommended and we got a pretty good deal. We'll see.

Do you remember seeing those?
