Oh, that's not my issue. Auto-debit is a great thing! I think I'm getting over-charged or something on my student loans even though they are consolidated. I don't know. I just don't get the whole process and I can't call my company and ask "hey, can you explain this to me because I feel like you are screwing me out of money. Thanks." I hate student loans!

How do you think you are getting overcharged?
I know that my student loans are on some kind of graduated payment plan, so my payments get larger over time to account for the fact that out of college you don't make that much money...

Yes, you CAN.
You SHOULD call them - that should be the starting point. They're usually really good about explaining their charges. I'd start with them and if you're not satisfied take other action.
Definitely call them to ask first!

Re: NWR: Anyone student loan savvy?
Definitely call them and ask how the charges go. Its your $ that they're taking each month, so you have a right of understanding them! I'm sure they get plenty of phone calls each week describing how the process goes. Can you move the loan to a new bank or make it a personal loan?

Re: NWR: Anyone student loan savvy?
when did you consolidate? private or govt? also, OFTEN the lower the payment you make (for private loans) the higher your interest rate is.

Actually, that's exactly what I would do. If I am paying someone, I want to know exactly how they arrived at their figure. They have to explain it to you. I have called Sallie Mae in the past to question things and found them to be helpful.
