my shower is no longer a surprise*UPDATED*

Yeah so my sister just ruined it!! I am so upset I just went in the bathroom to cry! See, I had to help her book the bachelorette party and when I began picking a date for that about a month ago-I said 'MAKE SURE WE DON'T PICK THE SAME WEEKEND AS THE SHOWER' !! At this time she was getting pissy and making it like I was being so anal about the planning and making sure everything was getting done-Well...turns out I should have been even more anal-God, between 2 moms, a sister (MOH) and 4 BMs no one noticed until now that they are the same date?? Even worse when she did suddenly realize they were the same date someone smart would have figured that that would have been a perfect way of tricking me-letting me think we were leaving for AC and instead it was my shower! But no instead she decides to call me and tell me I HAVE TO cancel the rooms at AC because someone can't go-I ask who and she starts stuttering and saying she can't say but IT HAS TO BE changed-at this point I totally understand what had happened and called my father (my mom's at work) screaming (not at him but just out loud)!! I am just so disappointed, plus now I have to figure out another weekend that everyone can go to AC it was hard enough the first time!!

Sorry so long-I really needed to vent!!

UPDATE-Soit turns out my sister really wasn't at fault-what happened was I originally gave my mom a list of addresses that included FH's family as well as my friends. My mom also asked FMIL for a list. Unfortunately my mom accidentally sent ou the invites using my list ONLY-so needless to say there were people on FMIL's list that didn't get an invite. So, my mom got all upset and went to the place she was having it and told them there is an additional 13 people. The place could not accomodate a party of that size and so she had to switch the place. The only date she could now get at a new place was 5/19 my original bachelorette party date. My mom was unaware of the BP and when she found out her and my sister tried to think of a way to tell me w/o giving up the shower but b/c the rooms at The Tropicana were booked in my name w/my credit card I had to be the one to cancel them. So looking at the whole picture it is my mom who made a mistake with the invites, yes my sister could have come up with a better way of tricking me and getting me to change BP-but hey they are trying really hard and I know my shower will be awesome!! My only question is who the hell is FMIL inviting to the shower-13 extra women-mind you all her family members were on my original list-so I have no clue who she's inviting-could be the church freakin choir for all I know! In the end the place, the guest list and all the details will be a surprise and now as many of you have said-I can pick out a really cute outfit!

I am so sorry! Why couldn't they cancel the rooms w/o telling you?
My sister ruined the surprise and my BM changed the date so I would still be surprised. They are very sweet.
Sounds like they were trying to keep it a secret and got flustered- at least it wasn't intentional and they had your best interests at heart.
So sorry- I know it seems unfair.

My shower wasn't surprise either. I found out because my step-mother left all of the info on our steps and one of my sisters' told her to hide everything. Well I found out the night before and I couldn't sleep and called up my mom and one of my sisters' to tell them. So when I went into work and had to go downstairs into one of the catering rooms, I acted surprised and none of the guests knew I knew, until after the party. Don't worry things will work out. You shouldn't be the one planning everything, thats what your BP is for. HTH

I am so sorry to hear about that. She could of said I can't do it on that weekend because I am going on vacation or something to keep it still a surpise.
I am sure that there will other special surpises that you will not know about.

I'm So sorry!! I Know how you feel. I never get surprised and I really wanted my shower to be a surprise and one on my BM let it slip the other day!! I wanted to kill herr

Oh I'm sorry that you are bummed. I actually didn't want my shower to be a suprise. Which worked out because I would have ended up taking the ATS-W on the same day and time as my shower (April 14th). Just think now you can look for a cute dress and be prepared for when you will wear it to your shower :).

Im sorry its not a surprize!! i to wanted mine to be a surprize more than anything. I am trying to keep from my at BM that i dont know ...i just dont want to make waves and i know they are trying so hard.

I'm sorry it's not a surprise, but it's bound to slip out... as it gets closer to the wedding you know it's coming. I found out about mine a week b4 then got that cute dress for it and a lot of girls on here were asking about it so at least you'll look extra good... go make a hair style appt.

Thanks for all your kind words!! I updated the story above-Oh and as I already posted on a separate thread I came home to a message indicating my gown has arrived So what began as a crumby day ended very well!
