VENDOR RAVE!!! Honeymoon / Travel Agent

Ladies, if you've asked for a recommendation for a travel agent, you may have seen me post about Tom Varghese of American Express Travel (Edited to add: You do not have to have an Amex card to book through him).

Tonight WE BOOKED OUR HONEYMOON with him!!!

We were very unsure of what we wanted or could do for our honeymoon when I first contacted him but did hav a few ideas. He was VERY patient with me and went over all our options, ideas, example itineraries, pros and cons, prices, etc. My FH and I had a hard time coming to a decision on where to go, but Tom was always very patient and answered any questions we had very promptly and he's available pretty much all day (until 10pm or even later if you pre-arrange with him! What other travel agent can say that?!?). This was especially great for us because my FH has late hours so a 9-5 TA would not work as great for us. Tom does not charge a fee either, so that is a big plus, and he WILL stick to whatever budget you give him and get you the best deal available in that budget.

After MANY MANY MANY weeks, we finally decided to book a French Polynesia honeymoon and he got us a great package including meals and some activities, all within our budget.

I just want to add that Tom is right now at a family reunion in another state and he STILL took the time to return our phone calls, answer our questions, and BOOK our honeymoon while he himself is on vacation!!! Honestly, I do not know of any other travel agent that makes himself as accessible as Tom Varghese does. He really has great customer service and relations!

So if you need a travel agent, not just to French Polynesia, CONTACT TOM!!! He also specializes in the Caribbean, Europe, etc etc. Next we're going to book our Vegas Bachelor and Bachelorette weekends with him!

Ok, stupid question...do you have to be an American Express Card member? Do you have to charge the expenses on that card?

Tom is awesome.. we booked with him last month ..
No you do not have to use an AMex Card..

Like Vintagegirl said, you do not have to have an Amex card to book with him (NOT a stupid question, I asked him the same thing!).

I had a bad experience with him. I called him to book my honeymoon and at first he seemed really excited, he had some ideas etc but he would never get in contact with me. He said he would call but I would end up having to call him. Finally he just didn't return my phone call so I had to find another travel agent. I always wondered why he did that!

Wow I am really surprised! I've been working with him for almost two months (my FH and I have been very indecisive ) and he quickly returned all my emails or phone calls and answered my tons of questions. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Many other LIW ladies have had great experiences with him (do a search) so I'm sorry you didn't!

Honestly.. thats really strange.. Perhaps you had the wrong number?? this guy would call me / email me usually wilthin hours or minutes sometimes when I called him..
