Letting BM's pick their own dresses....
I'm entertaining this idea. Has anyone done it or known someone who has? Or is anyone else considering it?Should I have parameters like....strapless only, etc, etc??
I wonder if they will look like a disjointed group in photos....
thoughts anyone?

I know someone's sister did this - she told her BMs just to buy a fancy black dress. I never saw pictures, but I heard it didn't look bad, but it looked nice and unique.

I plan on going to David's or a place that carries Bill Levkoff - picking a color and telling my BMs to go to town with the color.

Re: Letting BM's pick their own dresses....
For my best friends wedding we did that.We all went looking as a group, narrowed it down to the two we each liked best. We then took a vote. in the end we got a two piece that each of us had a different top. It looked good in pictures and we loved getting something that we were all comfortable in.

I dont mind them picking their own dress or we can all go to the place have them try on diff dresses and them pick which one looks best on all of them. Thats what we did for my friends wedding.

Re: Letting BM's pick their own dresses....
I'm doing that. I'm going to do what someone else here suggested: pick a desinger like David's or Bill Levkoff that has a million dresses in each color, tell them what color, and let them pick what they're comfortable in. However, I'm going to specify that it has to be tea length - I think a uniform length will look best, plus this way the no one looks 'fancier' than any other.I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding now where the bride is making all of us wear two-piece floorlength ugly dresses (won't say where they're from) and they're just hideous. The thought of having to spend $200 on this dress, and then pay to get it altered makes me so mad! It's such an ugly dress and I'm going to look awful in it, and pay so much money to do so! I don't want to do that to my friends.

Re: Letting BM's pick their own dresses....
i let my girls pick out their dress i went shopping with my moh and had her try on a million dresses... then i took another BM and had her try on the same million... then i picked out my 2 favoites and told them to all decided which one they liked best! they did a great job.. the girls wanted straps since they all have a pretty large chest so the strapless dress they are adding straps to. the MOH will be the onlyone strapless. i think it worked out GREAT... i also picked 2 colors and they picked that too.. i couldnt decided.. i liked both dresses and both colors equally... i prob would have gone with the dress they didnt like and then they would have been uncomfy so im ok with the idea!
