flower bo-k/garter toss - different idea cheesy?

Hi everyone! need your opinions please!

okay for many reasons I was thinking about not throwing the bo-k and the garter-more because of the after events of the garter toss and the lack of single people and it seems people disappear during this time-but at the same time since I have a 5 hour reception-I want to keep my guests entertained and not bored!!! so what i was thinking was this-and please let me know if this is cheesy:

What I was thinking was instead of just the single women and men (not many) how about EVERYBODY-ANYBODY goes out to the dance floor to catch -at the same time we will throw the bo-k and the garter and attached would be a prize- like a gift card to a really nice place- OR a card that says 'a donation will be made of your choice by the bride and groom'

Would that be fun? or no?
since people won't expect it- and they run from the traditional stuff (at least with our families) we wont tell them we are throwing the bo-k - we'd have the dj announce for anyone who wants a surprise - or gift or something come out to the dance floor- and then we'd explain that something is attached to the bo-k garter for the person who catches it.

for cp giveaway - i want to give to the couple together the longest at each table.. most likely...

I actually really like this idea because we ddint wnat to do the bo-k and garter toss for same reasons. At every wedding we have ever been to, we cringed when they called single people to the floor because I am almost 27 and FH is almost 32 but most of our friends are 35+ so we are surrounded by married people. At one wedding it was literally em and two seventeen year old twins to catch the bo-K! I was MORTIFIED!

Your ideas sound like a cute alternative. I think gift ecrtificates to resturants are nice-doesnt have to be expensive at all. I won a raffle prize at tricky trade for $25.00 worth of chinese food lol at this local place in town. Food's great.

I think it's a good idea. I don't think I'm going to do the traditional bo-k and garter toss either b/c there won't be that many single people at my wedding. I just don't see the point of embarassing them!

We are going to do that also, woman first, I throw bouquet, person who catches it is wished a lifetime of love and happineness. Then the garter is thrown to all men, same thing person who catches it is wished a lifetime of love and hapiness then the mc/dj will call the two people up and present them with a gc or a present. not sure what that will be yet, probably a 50 gc to a restaurant each...

I really like the idea you came up with...it is a nice way to do the traditional withou embarrassing anyone. I was thinking of doing a fortune bo-k. Someone on here posted the idea a few months ago...it is a number of different wrapped flowers and on each on is a different fortune (like a fortune cookie). Maybe one of them I'll do with a gift certificate. I wanted to include all the ladies at the party and not just the single gals.
