My Centerpieces!!! w/pics UPDATED NEW PICS

Ok, let me preface this by saying that our 'themes' are our monogram and the colors chocolate (brown) and sky (blue). My favorite flowers are hydrangeas, so I really only wanted blue hydrangeas and a couple of other things mixed in with the bo-ks or mom's corsages. I also personally prefer low CP's and wanted a square vase CP with lots of candles (originally I just wanted pillar candles as a CP with a couple of floral accents, but FH nixed that and said he wanted flowers in the center).

I am having custom runners made - bought semi matte satin chocolate brown material (the bottom side is microfiber/suede-ish, so it won't slip around on the table!). I had one sample made and took it to my florist - Designs by Rose - to see it together with my sample centerpiece.

This is it!


ETA: DBR emailed me a better picture of the CP items and I added some notes to it.

For the candles, we'll be using all white pillar candles in the style of the white candle in the sample (on the right). They will all have a brown satin ribbon tied around them and instead of two 3' candles and one 6', we're going to have one 6', one 4.5', and one 3'.

Those are real white rose petals with a few silk blue petals on the runners. Also, the hydrangeas will be more in a ball shape (higher in center), and it's hard to tell with the pic that I took, but there's brown bear grass looped inside the vase and OVER the top of the hydrangeas (to keep with my brown and blue theme).

Also, our RH tables are longer, so the pillar candles will be spaced out a bit further from the flowers in the middle, but you get the idea.

I am still playing with the idea to add white mini callas to the CP. THere were white roses in the original sample and I hated the look and requested the brown bear grass - looks 100x better now, but I thought maybe callas would look better than the roses? There's an extra cost involved with adding the callas, so I'm not sure if we CAN do it, but I'm still thinking about it.

I love it!! That's very similar to what I'm getting too. I think blue hydrangeas are so beautiful.

oooh oooh, thanks!!!! I honestly think it looked WAYYYY better in person - these pics do it NO JUSTICE at all (IMO). I'm so happy someone else saw it live and liked it!!!

It's beautiful just the way it is.
I really don't think you need the callas.
I think the 3 sizes of candles will make it look even better.

Thanks! I am really torn about adding the callas or not - I think they'll add a nice dimension, but I'm not sure if we can swing the cost or if it's worth it to add it - like is the CP ok as is. So I appreciate your comment!!!

and also wanted to add, i think they look great as is, no need for callas unless youre really set on it.

Another LIW bride who I recently found that did brown and blue is MELISSALO - check out her review for great ideas. This was her centerpiece so it's another idea for you (look, she used a brown runner like I'm doing!). Definitely call DBR!!! They are soooo nice and their prices can't be beat.
