So here's the update on FH's family & the invitation saga

it's a long story and if you're bored you can read about it here

One of the two cousins finally called FH this morning (after not returning any of our calls all month & putting off the tux measurements) and left a message that he was not going to be in our BP.

I feel so bad for FH.

and of course I can't keep my big mouth shut so I txt msg'ed him:
'I don't know why you did this, but you need to know you've really hurt him. And FH is a good man. He does not deserve to be treated so poorly by people he cares about.'


Not sure if I should have done that but I couldn't help it. Oh well, too late now. FH said if the brother doesn't call him by the end of the day today he's out too. my poor babe is heartbroken.

The cousin who pulled out responded to my text. he said:
'I know FH is a good man! I just have no time to get fitted and do all the required steps leading up to your big day. I should have told u earlier and for that I am very sorry.'
b@sta@rd. I responded:
'It only takes 5 minutes & you can do it at any tailor. He's assuming you are no longer even attending the wedding. He may not tell you but you broke his heart.'
'I dont like talking about this in a txt because it's too hard to know where people are coming from. You and your brother need to call FH and talk to him so u three can figure it out.'

Sorry for the play-by-play but my wedding is one month from tomorrow and I officially hate these people.
You guys are right, it's probably better off they don't come.

OMG!!!!! That is sooo horrible! I just read your original post and I would have done the same thing! And you went out of your way to apologize to the parents and to them. It's a fricken invitation! Being asked to be in the bridal party is pretty much an invitation in and of itself! I'm sooo sorry you are going through this! but you did the right thing by texting his cousin and letting him know what he is doing to him! My heart goes out to you and good luck with everything!

Your poor FH I am sure he is beside himself. I know there really isnt any comfort in what I am going to say and I am POSITIVE it will not make it better...but...maybe its better this way. It seems like so many people say you find out WHO really cares about you when it comes time for them to buck up. Im sorry that this is happening to him and I hope that he is able to look past it and realize that what he thought he had with these people he wasnt getting back

I hate to say this, but you're probably better off. Yes, you were wrong with the invitations, but you went out of your way to apologize and make it better. And these two couldn't find it in themselves to get over it? It wasn't really that big a deal. Besides, you're the one who sent out the invites, they were in the BP because of your FH. You'd think that they could do it for him, even if they were still mad at you. Since they're such freakin' grudge holders, you're probably better off. If your FH was close to them in the past, he probably doesn't realize how they've changed, because good friends and relatives you love don't treat you like that. I'm very sorry.

Honestly, its YOURRRRRR wedding. You're doing things your way. Ok, so you cut corners. So what! You're allowed to do that if you want. It was an error, sure. But is it worthy of this response?!?! hellllllllllllllll no!!!!!!!!!

I just got this AWFUL flashback of my old boss berating me because I sent out an invite to the wrong person. She flipped on me. I even thought THAT response, from my old BOSS was a bit absurd.

Can you imagine what happens when someone forgets to put the toilet seat down in that house!? Sheesh.

I'm SO sorry this is happening to you and FH right now. It was an honest mistake that you clearly tried to apologize for many times in many ways -- they need to get over it. This is not the kind of thing you need right now and I'm sure you feel very guilty and responsible right now I'm sure FH knows you had no idea they would get this upset and im sure he doesnt blame you. Its so rude of them!!! You;d think they'd let it go just for your FH's sake....

I remember the Op. I am very sorry people are acting this way over invites. People who get offended that easy ave other problems, IMHO. I hope you and your FH can get thru this time w/o any more turmoil.
