Would you be mad? Shower related

My FH's cousin just scheduled their engagement party in (they live in DC) for the same date as my shower. (I didn't want to be surprised.) We didn't invite all of FH's out of town extended family to the shower (so it won't really affect the guest list) but FH says that he is going to have to go to DC that weekend if they can't reschedule the e-party. At first I wasn't that mad but my mom thinks its wrong that FH won't be there at the begining and the end. FMIL will come to the shower. Should I be upset?

That's a hard one...I think I would be upset if FH wasnt around on my special day, even just to make an appearance at the end...hope it works out!

Fh didn't come to my shower at all - he went golfing with his brother that day...

Your FH doesn't have to be there.

i would be a little upset. my DH showed up at the end of the shower with his GMs and helped load up all the stuff, and then we wound up all hanging out and laughing about the shower and telling the boys all about it and just enjoying our BP. it was nice.

i know *technically* the guy doesn't have to be there at all, but for me it was so nice having him come and say hello to everyone and bring all the stuff home. so its a toughie.

I also think that is a hard one. I would also be a little upset because I would like FH to be there for a little bit.
